Waveform graphs and charts display data typically acquired at a constant rate. When the data are plotted on a waveform graph, the previous data are discarded and the new data alone are displayed. A waveform graph is typically used for fast processes that acquire data continuously. When the data are plotted on a waveform graph, the previous data are appended with the new data. Hence, the waveform chart keeps a history of data that can be compared with present data.
