Centrifugal pump vertical

This specification covers horizontal, end suction, vertically split, single-stage centrifugal pumps with top centerline discharge and hack pullout feature. [Pg.918]

The primary pump types for the chemical industry for horizontal and vertical inline applications have been standardized in ANSI B-123, ANSI Std B73.1M for horizontal end suction centrifugal pumps, and ANSI B73.2M for vertical inline centrifugal pumps. The standards are in a continuous process of upgrading to suit requirements of industry and the manufacturers. The API-610 standard is primarily a heavy duty application, such as is used for the refinery and chemical industry requirements. This is the only true world pump [21] standard, although the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is studying such an improved design [20]. [Pg.161]

End-thrust. Advise magnitude in both directions, such as in centrifugal pump applications, especially when motor is vertically mounted. Application details, when furnished, usually give a clue to whether or not these data are required. [Pg.659]

Centrifugal pumps with diffusion vanes are called diffusion pumps or, more recently, vertical turbine pumps. Those pumps with volute casings are called volute pumps. [Pg.473]

Centrifugal pumps can be further classified by physical design or axially split, radially split and whether the axis of rotation of the impeller(s) is vertical or horizontal. [Pg.473]

In applications, centrifugal pumps can be supplied with liquid via piping, or the pump may be submerged. Vertical pumps are called dry-pit or wet-pit types. The wet-pit pump (submerged) discharges up through a pipe system to some point above the pump. [Pg.474]

The head against which the liquid is to be pumped. This will be determined by the difference in pressure, the vertical height of the downstream and upstream reservoirs and by the frictional losses which occur in the delivery line. The suitability of a centrifugal pump and the number of stages required will largely be determined by this factor. [Pg.315]

Performance and NPSH tests shall be conducted using the methods of ISO 9906 grade 1, H11.6 (for centrifugal pumps) or HI2.6 (for vertical pumps), except that efficiency shaii be for information only and not rating. Performance tolerances shall be in accordance with Table 14. [Pg.80]

Centrifugal compressors must operate on a curve, just like centrifugal pumps. A typical curve is shown in Fig. 28.3. The horizontal axis is actual cubic feet per minute (ACFM). This is analogous to GPM, used on the horizontal (x) axis of centrifugal pump curves. The vertical axis is H (poly tropic feet of head). This is analogous to the feet of head used on the vertical (y) axis of the centrifugal pump curve. [Pg.364]

This process differs from others in several engineering details. The severe duty placed on the reboiler of the aluminum chloride recovery tower due to fouling was a problem which was solved by a vertical thermosyphon reboiler operating ivith sufficient head to provide a high rate of liquid circulation. Another problem was suitable pumps to recycle aluminum chloride slurry to the top of the reactor. Centrifugal pumps with mechanical seals using butane flush were most satisfactory. [Pg.219]
