Capsule Polisher

Perform general operational controls verification testing. 

Operate system throughout the range of operating design specifications or range of intended use. 

Verify that all safety devices of the capsule polisher are operating as specified in the manual. 

Verify that recommended lubricants are used during machine operation. 

Verify that all lubricants such as oil and grease are kept in clean, sealed containers so that no dust or moisture penetrates.

The runs quenched by switching out power supply and temperature fall down to 100°C during 1 minute and in the same time the pressure decreased by intensifier to 300 MPa. After quenching the bomb cooled down to room temperature, pressure decreased to atmospheric and bomb opened. Capsules checked for hermetic, opened and quarts seed cleaned by water, dried, and fixed by Canadian balsam inside glass tubes. The tubes were cut on 5-7 discs with 0.6-0.7 mm thickness and each ones was two side polished (0.5 mm thickness after). 

Stainless steel high pressure capsules (Perkin Elmer) provided with holes in the upper side of respectively 0.5 mm., 3.0 mm. and 4.0 mm. in diameter, are used as sample containers. The sample containers are closed by covering these holes with mild steel lids which can be removed magnetically. Both the sample container surfaces and the mild steel lid surfaces are polished to obtain an optimal closing action of the lids. 

Care should be taken to avoid mix-up during the inspection, sorting and polishing of capsules and tablets.

The writer has found that etching and exami nation with CDTA at successive 15 second inter vals reveals information about relative rates of alite reactivity, for example, when comparing clinkers from different production periods. The polished sections are bound together with a rubber band and etched simultaneously, or the clinkers can be en capsulated in a multichambered container.

Xhe experimental procedure to produce synthetic fluid inclusions uses quartz cores approximately 4 mm in diameter and 1-2 cm in length, which are fractured by thermal-shock technique at 350°C. Xhe cleaned and dried cores are placed into platinum capsules along with the fluid sample, sealed with and arc-welder and placed into cold-sealed pressure vessels and taken rapidly to the desired temperature.
