Sealing, capsule

Identifies all tamper-evident features and any capsule-sealing technologies. [Pg.15]

In order to prevent reaction by local overheating, all the samples were kept in liquid nitrogen while sealing the capsules. Sealed samples were treated at a precisely controlled temperature (473 or 486 K) for various lengths of time. [Pg.588]

Capsules available as authorised medicines can be the source of the active substance. The capsules have to be opened and emptied to obtain the active substance that will be processed further into the new capsule. Sealed capsules can be difficult to open. If so, use a blade to open the capsule, or smash the capsules in a mortar and sieve the contents to remove the smashed shell pieces. [Pg.63]

Longhi et al. [85] presented plagioclase/liquid D g and Dpe data for lunar basalts. Their experiments were performed using iron capsules (sealed in evacuated silica tubes) at temperatures of 1200°C. These authors found that Dpe was 0.02 and that D g was -0.05. [Pg.14]

The capsule s lid is positioned across the top edges of the container s side-walls, and the two parts are squeezed together. The lid compresses the O-ring onto the lower half of the capsule, sealing it against the bent top edges of the receptacle and the polymer film above it. Rnally, the mass of the water is recorded in the TGA as the initial or starting mass. [Pg.302]

The use of child-resistant containers (opened only with difficulty and know-how), strip packages (with pills and capsules sealed individually in a plastic strip), and safe storage have reduced the incidence of accidental poisoning, especially among children. [Pg.862]

Weigh the liquid samples in copper capsules and saturate with an absortent (magnesium oxide ) within the copper capsules. Seal the copper capsules with tin plugs. These precautions will induce a ower combustion to prevent any back flashes with the light samples, or incomplete sample combustion. [Pg.855]

Radon, sealed in small capsules called seeds , has been used as a radioactive substance in medicine, but is being superseded by more convenient artificially-produced radioisotopes. [Pg.357]

Several compounds such as BaZrS [12026-44-7], SrZrS [12143-75-8], and CaZrS [59087-48-8], have been made by reacting carbon disulfide with the corresponding zirconate at high temperature (141), whereas PbZrS [12510-11-1] was produced from the elements zirconium and sulfur plus lead sulfide sealed in a platinum capsule which was then pressurized and heated (142). Lithium zirconium disulfide [55964-34-6], LiZrS2, was also synthesized. Zirconium disulfide forms organometaUic intercalations with a series of low ionization (<6.2 eV)-sandwich compounds with parallel rings (143). [Pg.434]

The sample eapsule is plaeed in a tight-fitting 4340 steel fixture that serves to support the eopper eapsule. Pressure from the detonation of the explosive is transmitted to the eopper eapsule through a mild steel driver plate. This plate is also lapped optically flat on both surfaces. The mild steel acts to shape the pressure pulse due to the 13 GPa structural phase transition. With proper choice of the diameter of the driver plate and beveled interior opening of the steel fixture, shock deformation of the driver plate acts to seal the capsule within the fixture. [Pg.152]

Laser fusion, (a) A mixture of deuterium and tritium is sealed inside tire tiny capsule (1 mm in diameter] at the tip of the laser target. [Pg.528]

In addition to the tamper-evident packaging feature described in paragraph (b)(1) of this section, any two-piece, hard gelatin capsule covered by this section must be sealed using an acceptable tamper-evident technology. [Pg.46]

Filled hard gelatin capsules are held together by interlocking bumps and grooves molded into the cap and body pieces, and the capsules are usually additionally sealed by a banding process, which places a narrow strip of gelatin around the midsection of the capsule where the two pieces are joined. [Pg.339]

Hard gelatin capsules may be made hermetically sealed by the technique of banding wherein a film of gelatin, often distinctively colored, is laid down around the seam of the cap and body. Parke Davis KapsealR is a typical example. In the Quali-SealR process (Shionogi Qualicaps), two thin layers are applied, one on top of the... [Pg.344]
