CAE Tools

Within the IMPROVE project various commercial tools like CAE tools, simulators and model builders are employed for the support of the design and construction of a chemical plant. As a prototypical example of a-posteriori process integration, we have developed a fully process-integrated flowsheet editor extending a commercial CAE tool [21]. In the following, we present the motivation behind its integration, as well as some details of its technical realization. [Pg.194]

Whether the CAE tools are used or not, the data required for product design go beyond the single-point data. To effectively design with plastics, more comprehensive data, such as the following, are essential ... [Pg.892]

It is worth noting that, although the exhaustive compilation of data identified here will suffice in most cases, commercial CAE tools often insist on a significantly large volume of additional data that are not... [Pg.897]

Computer-aided engineering (CAE) analysis of the structure also provides a very useful tool in understanding the flow of forces in the pack. CAE tools can be used to assess how mechanical structure of the RESS will react in both performance and abuse situations. From a structural perspective, CAE can be used to determine the RESS behavior under crush scenarios, rollover scenarios and impact scenarios as well as the overall stresses that the pack will see during various drive cycles. [Pg.144]

Rolf Steinbuch studied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ulm. After 5 years with Sie-mens/KWU (now AREVA), where he was doing research in the field of fracture mechanics, he moved to Daimler, where he was responsible for nonlinear studies in the field of safety and reliability analysis. Since 1993 he works at Reutlingen University. He teaches mechanics, numerics, and simulation. His research fields cover optimization, acoustics, and nonlinear problems. As consultant he supports the introduction of CAE-tools to the industry. He has been publishing some books and many papers on simulation, acoustics, and optimisation. As visiting Professor he spent time at different universities in Europe and Africa. [Pg.391]

Two major types of analyses are discussed below— flow analysis and cooling analysis. It is important to review the literature, as more and more products are being introduced to serve the needs of the molding industry each year. The use of these CAE tools will assure that mold design and part processing can be accomplished with the greatest possible speed and effectiveness [11,12]. [Pg.778]

CAE tools is the name generally used to refer to the computer-based tools and systems that are employed in the stages of design before the physical layout step or to analyze and evaluate the electrical performance of the final physical layout. These include ... [Pg.310]

Functional Models. CAE tools that simulate the operation of a PCB require a Ubrary of models that describe how each part operates logically. These are functional models. Functional models do not contain information about propagation delay or rise times needed to verify that timing rules are complied with. Functional models are often used to configure emulators. [Pg.316]

The complete procedure is schematically represented in Figure 1. This shows how the modelling scheme is integrated with the multi-body d5uiamics simulations generated by ADAMS/Rail (see Figure 2) to produce a complete CAE tool for predicting wheel profile evolution. [Pg.368]

Therefore, the main objective of this smdy was to verify the influence of the changes in the cross section and thickness of the part on the determination of the pressure curves of the injected molded parts using CAD/CAE tools. [Pg.528]

As part of a senior level technical elective, the college students must take a design from concept to actual assembled part. The course is called R id Commercialization. The students learn sfrategies to get their products to market faster. In the associated lab, the students learn advanced sohds and smfacing modeling, as well as using Conputer-Aided-Engineering (CAE) tools. [Pg.3026]
