Hazard This category includes flammability, toxicity characterization, explosion risks, and so on, based on authoritative data. Also given are the Threshold Limit Values (TLV) for workroom exposures established by the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and various rulings of the Food and Drug Administration. 

The APhA efforts culminated in a consensus document in 1971 called Evaluations of Drug Interactions, the intent of which was to offer sufficient information to allow physicians and pharmacists to make authoritative judgments concerning specific drug interactions. This effort paved the way for the collection of DDI information into commercial electronic data bases. 

Before using diffusivities from either data or correlations, it is a good idea to check their reasonableness with respect to values that have been commonly observed in similar situations. Table 5-13 is a compilation of sever rules of thumb. These values are not authoritative they simply represent guidelines based on experience. 

Data on the nature and yield of the hydrocarbon product are not available, although the process has been stated to have operated successfully on a semiplant scale with paraffin-base oils. That it has not yet been superlatively successful may be deduced from the lack of its widespread use. The possibility of sulfur removal from high sulfur crudes, such as the West Texas crudes, by such a process has probably been investigated but no authoritative information is available. It is probable that such an oxidation process will not greatly reduce the sulfur content in the product unless it is allowed to occur to an excessive extent. 

The 1998 edition of the standard English language compilation of thermodynamic data, the NIST-JANAF Thermochemical Tables, gives the standard enthalpy of formation of gaseous P4O6 at 298 K as -2214 34 kJ mol [19]. This value is based on an experimental determination of the enthalpy of formation for the crystalline compound published in 1952. This determination was 11 years later shown to be in error by about 600 kJ moP [20] (The reader has now been warned Even the most authoritative compilation of experimental data may contain entries that are in serious error ) The new value for the enthalpy of formation of the solid leads to a gas phase enthalpy of formation of Af//° = -1606 40 kJ moP [21]. Calculation of the energy of atomization and division by 12, yields a P-O mean bond energy of MBE(P-O) = 362 kJ mol . ...

As will be described in Section 2, there exist some guidelines on how to perform an overall (municipal) RVA. However, no updated, complete and application-specific authoritative guidelines have currently been published. The purpose and contribution of the present paper is to describe and discuss one possible approach to such an analysis.
