Application Permits

Title V requires that all major sources (and certain minor sources) obtain an operating permit. Many pulp and paper mills are required to have a Title V permit, and may be required to submit information about emissions control devices and the general process at the facility in the permit application. Permits may limit pollutant emissions and impose monitoring record keeping and reporting requirements. [Pg.883]

The average dT/dt is typically an arithmetic average between the value at set pressure and the value at peak allowed pressure. The properties Cp, hfg, i, either can be evaluated at the set conditions or can be taken as the average values between the set condition and the peak allowed pressure condition. Alternatively, the term h/g/t)/g in Eq. (23-95) can be replaced by T(dP/dT)tat via the Clapeyron relation. This holds reasonably well for a multicomponent system of near constant volatility. Such an application permits direct use of the experimental pressure-temperature data obtained from a closed-system runaway VSP2 test. This form of Eq. (23-95) has been used to demonstrate the advantageous reduction in both vent rate and vent area with allowable overpressure (Leung, 1986a). [Pg.78]

Because of its use of average quantities, the free-energy gradient method is especially suited for use together with the MFA. Their joint application permits a considerable saving of computation time. The force experienced by the solute nuclei when the geometry is defined by the point r of the FES is [21-23]... [Pg.587]

Commercial grades of dioiganotin carboxylates frequendy have wider melting ranges because of the use of less pure grades of carboxylic acids in their manufacture which, for many applications, permits more facile handling of the liquids. [Pg.72]

The rheology of foams coupled with the proper applicators permits the creation of unique random coloring effects not easily achieved by conventional dyeing methods. Carpets are particularly well suited for the production of random coloring effects. [Pg.170]

The use of metered-dose valves in aerosol medical applications permits an exact dosage of an active drug to be delivered to the respiratory system where it can act locally or be systemically absorbed. For example, inhalers prescribed for asthmatics produce a fine mist that can penetrate into the bronchial tubes (see Antiasthmatic agents). [Pg.344]

Such remedies are approved by a simplified registration process. A series of homeopathic remedies can be approved. Documents should accompany the application, permitting a measure of the quality of homogeneity of fabrication lots. [Pg.135]

The equation for steam service is a modification of Napier steam flow given in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. ASME Power Boiler Code applications permit 3 percent overpressure. The equation for steam relief is [12] ... [Pg.351]

Only the PMA applicant on record with the FDA may amend, supplement, or submit reports to their PMA, unless the PMA includes the original and not a copy of an appropriate letter of authorization from the applicant permitting another person to submit information on behalf of the applicant. [Pg.201]

Establish common use patterns for dicarboximides on all crops for which more than one dicarboximide is or may be registered. This includes number of applications permitted, rates used, timing of applications, and possible use of companions and alternatives. [Pg.330]

DOE prepares Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements when appropriate, for those major field projects, Air, water, and other environmental monitoring, as required to demonstrate compliance with NEPA and applicable permits, is conducted as part of this need that data is made available to other tasks for various analyses and decisions ... [Pg.18]

The most important ways of direct pheromone application are their combination with traps, and their joint application with insecticides, male sterilants or insect hormones on restricted parts of the area to be protected. This method of application permits a considerable reduction in the quantity of insecticide to be used which, besides its economical advantage, is important also from the aspect of environmental protection. [Pg.234]

The above relationship can also be used with binary systems. Its application permits a linear calibration graph to be obtained, which is preferable in most instances. We have re-calculated the non-linear calibration graphs presented earlier [236—238] using eqn. 3.10 and in all instances linear relationships were obtained. [Pg.128]

One of the most obvious application of second order organic materials is the fabrication of electro-optic modulators for high frequency communication applications. Such applications permit not only exploitation of the large optical nonlinearity realized with... [Pg.182]

A very exciting use of the signal enhancement of PHIP is the transfer of the resulting polarization to heteronuclei. This application permits the acquisition of NMR spectra of heteronuclei such as C, P, and in much less time than could be achieved otherwise. In systems where this process can be used, the course of a reaction can be followed using the NMR spectra of X nuclei in addition to H NMR spectra, since these spectra can be acquired very rapidly. Similarly, the use of parahydrogen allows for the rapid acquisition of 2D NMR spectra by indirect detection of X nuclei using the added protons ofp z-... [Pg.449]

Clearly, a model to be developed should meet the accuracy requirements of an application and at the same time should be as simple as possible. However, as today s engineering systems tend to become larger, more complex, and more integrated, it is not always obvious at the beginning of a modelling process which phenomena are relevant with regard to the application and to decide what to include into a model and what to neglect. As a result, one approach often applied is to start with a complex model and to reduce its complexity subsequently as far as the application permits. [Pg.1]

If the application permits the use of reground, less than 20% of regrind materials may be added to the virgin pellets after drying without a strong decrease in property. But the mechanical and thermal properties of molded parts may be inferior to those of fresh material, due to the thermal... [Pg.147]

When the application permits (which, indeed, is not always, as exemplified by standalone photovoltaic systems), the eharging of lithium-ion batteries is done by the method of constant current and then eonstant voltage (see Figure 6.10). [Pg.184]

PS-modified polyphenylene oxide is produced by GE plastics and marketed under the trade name Noryl. Applications include UL 94 V-0 flame retardant [3] PCB enclosures and glass-fibre filled self-extinguishing UL 94 V-1 relay bases. The latter application permits 600 V operation with an operating temperature of 110 °C and a short-term tolerance of 135 °C. [Pg.20]
