Number twenty of the Advances in Chemistry Series Edited by the staff of ACS Applied Publications... [Pg.1]

ACS MONOGRAPH Series was started by arrangement with the interallied Conference of Pure and Applied Chemistry, which met in London and Brussels in July 1919, when the American Chemical Society undertook the production and publication of Scientific and Technological Monographs on chemical subjects. At the same time it was agreed that the National Research Council, in cooperation with the American Chemical Society and the American Physical Society, should undertake the production and publication of Critical Tables of Chemical and Physical Constants. The American Chemical Society and the National Research Council mutually agreed to care for these two fields of chemical progress... [Pg.1298]

Recently there has been progress towards a universal acceptance of collaboratively tested methods and collaborative trial results and methods, no matter by whom these trials are organised. This has been aided by the publication of the IUPAC/ISO/AOAC Harmonisation Protocol on Collaborative Studies.14 That Protocol was developed under the auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemists (IUPAC) aided by representatives from the major organisations interested in conducting collaborative studies. In particular, from the food sector, the AO AC International, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), the International Dairy Federation (IDF), the Collaborative International Analytical Council for Pesticides (CIPAC), the Nordic Analytical Committee (NMKL), the Codex Committee on Methods of... [Pg.56]

An earlier book, ACS Symposium Series No. 122, Thermodynamics Second Law Analysis, is an introduction to the direct application of the second law of thermodynamics to (1) process efficiency analysis and (2) cost accounting in energy conversion systems and chemical/metallurgic processes. Since the publication of that volume, there has been a steady growth in the interest in applying these methods, and hence, more applications that encompass a greater realm of processes have surfaced. The purpose of this sequel is to present these new applications—in particular those that shed additional light on the theory and practice of the subject. The reader may wish to refer... [Pg.1]

There are several types of periodicals online, including those based on print editions, electronic copies retrieved from databases, articles released online in advance of a lull print issue, periodicals published only in electronic format, and article preprints posted in preprint servers. The reference styles for periodicals apply, with additional information concerning online location and accession date assigned as needed. As for print periodicals, article titles are desirable but not included in all ACS publications check the publication itself. [Pg.317]

Polysaccharides are formed by glycosidically linked carbohydrate (glycosyl) residues. As expected, the nomenclature of polysaccharides is based on the nomenclature of carbohydrates. The recommendations of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry-International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Joint Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature (lUPAC-IUB JCBN) have been pub-lished and are open to the public at http //www. chem.qmul.ac.uk/iupac/2carb/39.html. [Pg.2350]

Contributions that have appeared or have been accepted for publication with essentially the same content in another journal or book or in some freely available printed or electronic work (e.g., government publications and proceedings) will not be published by the ACS. This restriction does not apply to results previously published as communications to the editor in the same or other journals. [Pg.203]

Mike Dudukivic, Benny Freeman, Massimo Morbidelli (the first outside the United States), and Tunde Ogunnaike. In 1997, the web edition of this journal was initiated, whereas in 2003, online submission of manuscripts was made possible all of these milestones greatly shortened the time to publication. The American Chemical Society (ACS) scanned all the Journal pages published prior to the online electronic version and made the ACS Journal Archives available in 2002. In 1996, we introduced a new category for papers on Applied Chemistry, which has attracted many papers that previously would not have been submitted to I EC Research. [Pg.13]
