Accreditation Education

The pharmacist provides formal accredited educational sessions, such as medical grand rounds or intensive care rounds, for medical staff, students, and residents. 

The Eurobachelor (www.eurobachelor.net) is a product of the project Tuning Educational Structures in Europe and was approved by the EuCheMS in 2003. The diploma label will ensure reciprocal recognition to students all over Europe between accredited institutions. The Eurobachelor Eabel Committee is funded by the European Commission and supported by the EuCheMS. 

The new research frontiers in chemical engineering, some of which represent new applications for the discipline, have important implications for education. A continued emphasis is needed on basic principles that cut across many apphcations, but a new way of teaching those principles is also needed. Students must be exposed to both traditional and novel applications of chemical engineering. The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has set in motion a project to incorporate into undergraduate chemical engineering courses examples and problems from emerging applications of the discipline. The committee applauds this work, as well as recent AIChE moves to allow more flexibility for students in accredited departments to take science electives. 

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine and The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. 

The Medical College of Georgia is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. 

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. 

Since the first edition was published, many universities have developed courses or course content in chemical process safety. This new emphasis on process safety is the result of the positive influences from industry and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Based on faculty feedback, this textbook is an excellent application of the fundamental topics that are taught in the first three years of the undergraduate education. 

Chemical engineers were the first among engineers to import accreditation as a means to put pressure on reluctant university departments. As early as. 1921, A. D. Little, once again, published the results of a survey of chemical engineering education, and he concluded that report by stating that curricula should be quickly standardized to put an end to the anarchic situation revealed by the survey. The model to be emulated, of course, was his own as it had been realized at M.I.T. (3).

Tools needed for education include special initiatives, curriculum committees, academic support, accreditation self-studies, and assessment. 

Participation in EQA schemes with adequate performance is usually one of the criteria required by external accreditation bodies assessing the competence of laboratories to provide a service. It is also a powerful educational tool that has improved both the awareness of potential problems and the overall performance of laboratories since its inception in the 1950s. 

The ICS that are certified to lOAS-accredited certification body standards are compelled (as of the 2002 IBS revision) to comply with chapter 8 on social justice (see Box 14.2) as well as the rest of the IBS. In addition, many ICSs are part of producer cooperatives that also have fair trade certification. As such, additional social justice and development standards are in place - the regulatory and collaboration dimensions. The learning element of ICSs is perhaps the most dynamic and interesting. Extension is an integral and essential aspect of ICSs - and is predominantly used for technical issues. Elowever, ICSs, once in place are often a framework for other kinds of development and learning (e.g. parallel systems - HIV/AIDS education in Uganda via EPOPA Projects, local community economics in Thailand). 

Don t make it hard to find information. Make sure the sections of your resume are clearly defined. The main sections of a resume are the Heading, Job Objectives, Education, Accreditation and Licenses, Skills, Work and Employment Experience, Professional Affiliations, Military Service, References, and Personal Information. Choose what information about yourself should be included under each of the headings. The actual wording for each resume section can be modified. Also, only include the sections that apply to you.

An integrated approach to disseminating traceability is described as it has crystallized from more than 15 years of practice with IMEP. It shows how Si-traceable values are disseminated for the benefit of the end-users, consistent with the title and objective of this CCQM workshop. It contains the essential elements needed standardization, quality assurance, accreditation, metrology and education (SQAME). The key tasks of metrological and other reference measurement institutes as well as accreditation bodies in the dissemination and use of metrological traceability naturally follow from these 15 years of experience. 

In addition, the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) provides guidelines for animal care and use, operates a certification program for animal technicians, and develops educational materials. The AALAS also serves as a scientific forum for laboratory medicine and care. The American Association for the Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) offers a peer review laboratory accreditation program for research facilities. In addition, the FDA and the EPA have Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations.
