Professional affiliations

If you have training in these or related disciplines and are engaged in the study, use, or management of environmental resources, SETAC can fulfill your professional affiliation needs. 

When describing your professional affiliations, however, be sure to exclude any organizations that may be considered controversial. Leave out references to religious and political organizations, or organizations with whose philosophies not everyone agrees. 

Keep the references short for the professional affiliations you do list on your resume. For example, list the name of the organization (the local chapter name and location, if applicable), and a few words about your involvement with the association. 

Don t make it hard to find information. Make sure the sections of your resume are clearly defined. The main sections of a resume are the Heading, Job Objectives, Education, Accreditation and Licenses, Skills, Work and Employment Experience, Professional Affiliations, Military Service, References, and Personal Information. Choose what information about yourself should be included under each of the headings. The actual wording for each resume section can be modified. Also, only include the sections that apply to you.

Entries in the Encyclopedia are in alphabetic sequence. Cross-references appear in small capitals at the ends of the articles to help readers locate related discussions. Articles range from brief, but concise, definitions to extensive overviews that treat key concepts in larger contexts. A fist of common abbreviations and symbols, and a list of the known elements, as well as a modern version of the periodic table are included in the For Your Reference section at the beginning of each volume. A glossary and a comprehensive index appear at the end of each volume. Contributors are listed alphabetically, together with their academic and professional affiliations, at the beginning of each volume. 

Whether the message was personal and sent only to you or whether it was posted in a newsgroup, it is not published. E-mail messages should be cited the same as any other personal communication. Include the year and the professional affiliation of the author.

Healthcare organizations and the professionals affiliated with them should make continually improved patient safety a declared and serious aim, by establishing patient safety programmes with defined executive responsibility. 

Ideally, in order to reduce the uncertainty in a safety case due to lack of information on experience, the safety case should link to evidence in the form of a combination of short CVs, professional affiliations and competency levels all supporting one another.
