A related potential form, which was primarily developed to reproduce, structural energetics of silicon, was introduced by Tersoff and was based on ideas discussed by Abell . The binding energy in the AbeH-Tersoff expression is written as a sum of repulsive and attractive two-body interactions, with the attractive contribution being modified by a many-body term.

Abel, Ernest L. Fetal Alcohol Abuse Syndrome. New York Plenum Press, 1998. Describes the causes and consequences of fetal alcohol syndrome, including pregnancy-related problems (such as spontaneous abortion), birth defects, and neurological abnormalities. Many attempts have been made to develop PVT relations for detonation products of condensed expls. These product gases, even in the absence of any condensed phase products, are very far from ideal. Thus most EOS for detonation products have included correction factors to account for non-ideality. Most product EOS are semi-empirical because they have to be adjusted to fit expti data. Usually the Abel equation, pv=nRT+atp, is used as a starting point. In the original Abel equation a is a constant covolume, but a constant a does not agree with observation. Therefore various attempts have been made to modify the Abel equation by inclusion of a = a(v) or a = a(p) and so on. The various attempts at obtaining a true EOS are summarized in Vol 4, D268-L to D298-R. Below we will briefly describe a new EOS which was developed recently...

Nevertheless, other enzyme systems may contribute to significant drug interactions such as transporter (e.g. Floren 1997 Abel 2001) phase II enzymes (e.g. Diet-mann 1976 Zucker 2001 Rayer 2001 Williams 2004), or cytosolic enzymes (Obach 2004). In NMR imaging, the projection P(x) s obtained by Fourier transformation of the FID signal measured in a constant magnetic field gradient G, and the radial information Frir) is the inverse Hankel transform of the FID Maj 11.

Investigations on these systems were among the earliest to be made in the field of chemical kinetics and the work of Abel, Bray, Livingston, Liebhafsky, and others has provided what must be one of the most extensive kinetic surveys of chemically related reactions yet carried out.
