The project developed two tools, both designed for use in electronic formats and also hard copies to ensure adaptability to unpredictable disaster situations. Both tools were based on review of infernafional good practice and aimed to support EHOs to pass consistent information rapidly to an emergency management coordinator to use as a guide to decision making. 

These typical duties for a safety manager for an entire site can be used as a guide for the competent supervisor to perform a fall hazard survey for specific jobs or projects. For each job with a fall hazard, the competent person can adapt his or her knowledge and experience to perform a short training session on the hazards present, the plan for abatement, and then plan for rescue activity. 

In Chapter 10 we discussed the Plan-Do-Check-Act approach to implementing supply chain projects. We also described at some length the role of top management in implementation. However, the reality is that the "doers" who implement new supply chain processes will come from one or more functional departments. So an important part of the task under current discussion, Implementing Collaborative Relationships, is marshalling these resources. A major obstacle is that improvement team must learn new skills to be effective. In addition to hammers, they must become proficient with saws, wrenches, and other tools of the trade. Successful management of a central HTS operation requires a discipline of process control that extends beyond the automation systems. The progression of HTS projects must be carefully guided and tracked through several milestones designed to ensure that a steady and predictable stream of robust assays are available for transfer to the automation platforms and that sufficient bulk reagents and consumable supplies will arrive in time to support the HTS campaigns.
