Workers must be protected against retaliation. As we have seen, this is an indispensable requirement of any safety program that deputizes workers to regulate their own workplaces. As discussed above, measures to promote truly egalitarian labor relations should not be viewed as auxiliary advances in occupational safety and health are inseparable from worker empowerment in general. [Pg.220]
