Primary prevention

The use of prophylactic antifungal therapy to prevent primary infection or reactivation of aspergillosis during subsequent courses of chemotherapy is controversial. 

Asthma is considered as a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways. This inflammation causes recurrent episodes of symptoms, variable airflow limitation, and increased airway responsiveness. Prevention of asthma involves both the prevention of the initial development of asthma (= primary prevention) and the prevention of exacerbation in patients with asthma (= secondary prevention). Primary prevention methods include reducing exposure to indoor allergens, particularly domestic mites, avoidance of passive smoking, especially by infants, and avoidance of vehicle emission pollutants, largely from incomplete combustion of petrol by car engines. 

Protecting the can from the effect of corrosion is very important in order to achieve the very long shelf life that metal cans offer. Discussion with the can manufacturer will ensure the use of the appropriate grades of lacquers on the internal surfaces to prevent primary corrosion. The external surfaces must also be considered in order to prevent secondary corrosion, which will result in leakage. Handling on the filling line must ensure the smooth flow of cans and eliminate any sharp objects that may scratch or pierce them. A lot of moisture is present on the line because of the use of conveyor lubricants or from the pasteuriser, and it is important that cans are dried before being packed, particularly if they are to be shrink-wrapped. Cold cans, below the dew point, must be wanned to ambient temperature or else they will become wet when packed.

Caspofungin is indicated for treatment of invasive aspergillosis in patients who are refractory to or intolerant of other therapies such as amphotericin B. The use of prophylactic antifungal therapy to prevent primary infection or reactivation of aspergillosis during subsequent courses of chemotherapy is controversial. 

Carbamazepine is usually regarded as the drug of choice for partial seizures (with or without secondary generalization) and it can also be valuable in preventing primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. 

The bone benefits of ET and HT documented in observational and clinical trials are not greater than the negative effects. Contrary to observational studies, ET and HT do not prevent primary or secondary...

Secondary prevention consists of measures to prevent, or minimize the health consequences, of illness or injury (such as preventing the spread of an infectious disease to others) after the disease or injury has begun. 

To prevent primary circuit coolant leakage in case of a pipeline break or equipment failure, a DN15 restriction insert is arranged in the fitting pipe penetrating the reactor vessel. 

A spider mixer in the area of the reactor nozzle has a restriction (DN25) to prevent primary circuit outflow in case of a pipeline rupture.
