Word for Windows

Set up a layout including a spectrum, a textfile and a graphic file with the structural formula of glucose and try to copy this layout via the clipboard into your word processor program, e.g. WORD for WINDOWS. 

Text and diagrams were produced with the Word for Windows and ChemWindow packages, respectively, in the Desktop Publishing program.

Design Science, Inc. provides MathType (www.mathtype.com), the professional version of the Microsoft Equation Editor. It is an interactive tool for Windows and Macintosh that lets users create mathematical notation for word processing and desktop publishing documents, web pages, and presentations. 

There are different strategies for the selection of sub-matrices for evolving type factor analyses. The classical, original mode has been presented so far. The most important alternative procedure is based on a moving window of fixed size. In other words, a window of a pre-defined number of consecutive spectra is moved along the columns of the matrix Y. Each window is subjected to SVD, the singular values are stored and their logarithms are plotted. 

As PHREEQC for Windows does not use an extension for saving (like e.g. .doc for word documents), it is advisable to either create an extension of one s own (e.g. phr ) or to save all input files in a separate directory. The input files are plain ASCII files that can be read and edited with any editor. 

CHAR(10) is the line feed character, CHAR(13) is the carriage return (the ll symbol you see when you choose Show SI from the View menu in Microsoft Word). Use one of these characters to insert a line break in text within a formula CHAR(10) in Excel for Windows, CHAR(13) in Excel for the Macintosh. 

Vent- A pipe or duct which allows the flow of air and gasses to the outside. Also, another word for the moving glass part of a window sash, i.e. window vent. 

Copy and paste to a text edit software (Notepad, MS word, or WordPad for Windows OS). 

Besides Excel, one can insert other Windows applications components into Mathcad to expand its functionality and mie can add Mathcad worksheet into other appheations. Word, for example. Nevertheless, it is only worth inserting other programs components into Mathcad worksheet if they provide calculations and other features for which Mathcad is not sufficient. The point is that the Mathcad worksheets sent to another user who does not have the pertinent application, which used its comptMients, the Mathcad worksheet will not fail. In addition, a Mathcad worksheet containing other applications components is difficult to publish on the Internet. 

The 3D inspection system has a number of measuring and report utilities that enables the user to easily find, analyse and report possible indications in the test object. As an example, a moveable 2D projection view plane can be moved along e.g, the welding geometry dynamically updating the content of the 2D projection view window. Indications can be measured using any referenee co-ordinate system and the results and screen dumps can automatically be dumped in report files suited for later import into a word processing application. 

RTF stands for Rich Text Format, which is Microsoft s open markup language for defining the content of documents. If you have an RTF file, simply clicking on it within a Microsoft Windows environment causes Microsoft Word or WordPad to open the file. There are several ways to create RTF files, and thus Microsoft Word files, with SAS. 

There is another easy way to "cheat." On UNIX/Linux workstations, open up a new text editor and enter your frequently used statements there. On Windows, you can use the really nice MATLAB Editor. You can copy-and-paste multiple commands back and forth between the text editor window and the MATLAB window easily. If you want to save the commands, you certainly can add comments and annotations. You can consider this text file as a "free-format notebook" without having to launch the Microsoft Word Notebook for MATLAB. 

The task is to resolve (3.69) for y=0, i.e. to find the x-values that result in y=0, or in other words to find the intercepts of the curve with the x-axis. These x-intercepts are commonly call roots. There is a solution around x=20, another one near x=5 and possibly even more outside the window displayed in Figure 3-21. 

An important parameter for electrochemical solutions is the range of the electrical potential within which they are electroinactive. In other words, the anodic or cathodic windows they have available in which investigations on the redox properties of various compounds can be performed. We have already reported in Table 1 Figure 9 shows graphically the potential ranges of the most common solutions at a platinum electrode. 

An important consequence of the presence of the metal surface is the so-called infrared selection rule. If the metal is a good conductor the electric field parallel to the surface is screened out and hence it is only the p-component (normal to the surface) of the external field that is able to excite vibrational modes. In other words, it is only possible to excite a vibrational mode that has a nonvanishing component of its dynamical dipole moment normal to the surface. This has the important implication that one can obtain information by infrared spectroscopy about the orientation of a molecule and definitely decide if a mode has its dynamical dipole moment parallel with the surface (and hence is undetectable in the infrared spectra) or not. This strong polarization dependence must also be considered if one wishes to use Eq. (1) as an independent way of determining ft. It is necessary to put a polarizer in the incident beam and use optically passive components (which means polycrystalline windows and mirror optics) to avoid serious errors. With these precautions we have obtained pretty good agreement for the value of n determined from Eq. (1) and by independent means as will be discussed in section 3.2. 

A rather provisional and "crude" version 1.0 of CHAOS was already presented at the 7th lUPAC Conference on Organic Synthesis, held at Nancy (France) in July 4-7, 1988, and some copies of it were privately distributed. The more refined version 2.0 was included in the first edition of this book. The present versions 3.0 for Macintosh and 1.0 for PC with Windows have been reprogrammed de novo and include many improvements. To those who are familiar in writing computer programs the following words (stated in a quite different context) by one of the characters of Bertolt Brecht will make sense "I m hard at work preparing my next error .
