Water samples sampling frequency

The economical value of hydrochemical studies also has wider aspects, as they may reduce the number of new drillings needed or improve their location. The price of hydrochemical measurements is small compared to drilling expenses, but they should be minimized by careful planning and proper selection of the parameters measured at each stage of the study and proper selection of water sampling frequencies. These topics are discussed in section 18.2. [Pg.10]

Vinas et al. [47] determined penicillamine routinely by using batch procedures and FIA. A capsule was dissolved in water, diluted to 250 mL, and a suitable portion of the solution treated with 1 mM Co(II) solution (2.5 mL) and 2 M ammonium acetate (2.5 mL). The mixture was diluted to 25 mL and the absorbance of the yellow complex was determined at 360 nm. Calibration graphs were linear for 0.02-0.3 mM of penicillamine. The method was modified for flow injection analysis using peak-height or peak-width methods, but in both cases the flow rates were maintained at 3.3 mL/min. For the peak-height technique, calibration graphs were linear for 0.1-2 mM, and the sampling frequency was 150 samples per hour. For the peak-width method, the response was linear for 50 pM to 0.1 M, and this method was particularly useful for routine determinations. [Pg.142]

The most ubiquitous, and also abundant, compounds in the analyzed surface waters were CO, BE, and EPH. On the other hand, HER, 6ACM, and THC were not positively identified in any of the investigated river water samples. The rest of the target analytes, except lysergic compounds, presented the lowest frequency of appearance in this aqueous matrix (see Fig. 2). The levels at which the investigated classes of illicit drugs and metabolites were detected in surface waters are shown in Fig. 6. [Pg.198]

Of the 22 pesticides analyzed in water, 21 were found to be present in some or all of the samples analyzed cyanazine was the only undetected compound. Figure 2 shows the concentration of individual and total pesticides and their frequency of detection in the water samples collected from each of the six sampling sites monitored. [Pg.264]

Water systems. The water systems at ABC Pharmaceutical Industries are monitored per manufacturing site SOP for Microbiological Monitoring of Water. The levels of water tested are city water, purified water (deionized water), and water for injection (WFI). Manufacturing site SOP describes the procedures for obtaining samples, sampling frequencies, test procedures, and acceptance criteria (alert and action limits). [Pg.527]

Automatic analyzers have been used for many years to provide on-line analytical data in power houses, oil refineries, and other major industries. These take periodic water samples from a bypass line at a frequency ranging from every 2 minutes to almost continuously. These analyzers use conventional wet chemistry, colorimetric analysis methods and provide for... [Pg.377]

Barium has been detected with a positive geometric mean concentration of 101.6 mg/L in groundwater samples from approximately 58% of the 2,783 hazardous waste sites that have had samples analyzed by the Contract Laboratory Program (CLP) (CLPSD 1989). Barium has also been detected with a positive geometric mean of 62.6 mg/L in surface water samples from 27% of the sites in the CLP statistical database (CLPSD) represent frequency of occurrence and concentration information for NPL sites only. [Pg.78]

Purified matrix (water, soil, and tissue) are processed as though they were a sample. This will indicate interferences caused by the reagents used. It will also identify cross-contamination from samples. Frequency should be once per batch of up to 20 samples. [Pg.130]

To see how these different e(i ) functions combine to create an interaction, consider the case of two hydrocarbon half-spaces A = B = H across water medium m = W. First plot eH(/ ) and ew(i ) as continuous functions [see Fig. LI.22(a)]. These are plotted at only the discrete sampling frequencies at which they are to be evaluated a log plot in frequency shows how compression of the arithmetically even spacing fit- = 0.159 n eV in index n works with the varying difference in eH(/ ) and ew(i ) [see Fig. LI. 22(b)],... [Pg.61]

Dichloroethane has been detected in groundwater samples taken at an estimated 9% of the NPL hazardous water sites participating in the Contract Laboratories Program (CLP) at a geometric mean concentration of 23.1 ppb for the positive samples (CLP 1989). The compound was also detected in surface water samples taken at an estimated 2% of the NPL hazardous waste sites participating in the CLP at a geometric mean concentration of 24 ppb for the positive samples. Note that these data from the CLP Statistical Database represent frequency of occurrence and concentration information of NPL sites only. [Pg.57]

Tropical storms, typhoons, or hurricanes, depending on their strength and geographical context, often deliver torrential rains. Increased river flow during such high intensity, low frequency rainfall events can transport a major portion of annual river N load to coastal systems. Historically, there has been a paucity of data on such events due to their irregular and extreme nature and the generally manual nature of water sample collection for nutrient analyses. However, with the use of in situ automatic water samplers and nutrient analysis systems, data from such events can now more readily be captured. [Pg.491]
