Camera video

The zoom optics between the image intensifier and the video camera gives the freedom to magnify details of the image for more detailed inspection. 

Whereas scintillation screens can be used to directly view x-rays passing through the body, the dose to a patient is too high. Instead, scintillation screens are combined with video cameras or electronic intensifier tubes and video cameras. This detection scheme is used in digital radiography where digital x-ray images are recorded, and fluoroscopy where temporal processes are to be followed. 

Most CCDs are specifically designed for video camera apphcations, which detect photons in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectra. 

Response to Electric and Acoustic Fields. If the stabilization of a suspension is primarily due to electrostatic repulsion, measurement of the zeta potential, can detect whether there is adequate electrostatic repulsion to overcome polarizabiUty attraction. A common guideline is that the dispersion should be stable if > 30 mV. In electrophoresis the appHed electric field is held constant and particle velocity is monitored using a microscope and video camera. In the electrosonic ampHtude technique the electric field is pulsed, and the sudden motion of the charged particles relative to their counterion atmospheres generates an acoustic pulse which can be related to the charge on the particles and the concentration of ions in solution (18). 

Samples can be removed for analysis, phase volumes can be measured to determine mixture composition and molar volumes (70), and phase boundaries can be measured. Many different configurations of view cells have been proposed. Some are capable of pressures ia excess of 100 MPa (14,500 psi). The cell coateats may be viewed safely through the sapphire wiadow by use of a mirror, video camera, or borescope. 

Sohd tantalum capacitors have a high volumetric capacitance which makes them attractive for use in miniaturized electronic systems like cellular telephones, hand-held video cameras, and personal computers. The insensitivity of their capacitance to temperature and their abiUty to operate at temperature extremes explains why these devices are used in such harsh environments as automobile engine compartments. Sohd tantalum capacitors are extremely rehable and, therefore, are often the capacitor of choice in critical appHcations like spacecraft electronics, pacemakers, and safety equipment. 

Sihcon charge coupled devices (CCDs), commonly used in soHd-state video cameras and in research appHcations, are being appHed to low light level spectroscopy appHcations. The main advantage of area array CCDs over linear photodiode detectors is the two-dimensional format, which provides simultaneous measurements of spatial and spectral data.

To date, the usual way of recording the LEED pattern is a light-sensitive video camera with a suitable image-processing system. In older systems movable Earaday cups (EC) were used which detected the electron current directly. Because of long data acquisition times and the problems of transferring motion into UHV, these systems are mostly out of use nowadays.

The initial performance test for all local ventilation systems is a smoke test, which provides easy airflow visualization between the source and the hood, it helps to identify, with little effort, the main features of airflow patterns. Such a test, recorded by a video camera, allows performance comparisons to be made before and after improvements. Where such internal inspection work is carried, out a safety checklist and processes for confined space entry permit system and tag-out/lock-out MUST be undertaken before any person enters the boiler. The inspection of waterside surfaces should be carried out by a suitable qualified person and will benefit from employing either an instant camera or a video camera (Horoscope or similar fiberoptic-based device) to record any parts of the boiler where corrective action is needed. 

The use of small electrochromic points allows the construction of monochromic or multichromic flat screens. Using different conducting polymers with complementary colors on ITO-coated flexible plastics (now available commercially), camouflage cloths can be envisaged which, once connected to a video camera and a system of image treatment, would be able to mimic any surrounding, as chameleons or cuttlefish do.
