Those with transparency capabilities provide many different products that include toys, protective shields (high heat resistance, gunfire, etc.), transportation vehicle lighting, camera lenses, eyeglasses, contact lenses, etc. When transparency is needed in conjunction with toughness, plastic materials are the preferred candidates. Add to the capability of providing simple to very complex shapes. 

Two classes of on-road motor vehicles, light- and medium-duty trucks, that had relatively lower tons/day of exhaust emissions of PM are omitted for clarity. The three categories of light-duty trucks, noncatalyst, catalyst, and diesel, emitted a total of 1.43 and 0.99 tons/day of POM in 1982 and 1993, respectively. PM exhaust emissions totaled 0.04 and 0.05 tons/day in 1982 and 1993, respectively, for catalyst and noncatalyst, gasoline-fueled medium-duty trucks. 

The new limit values for particulates were reformulated according to three categories of vehicles light duty, light commercial and heavy duty. The limit values reformulated for particulates for light duty vehicles are defined in Directive 88/76/EEC and those that follow (table 1) for the other vehicles.

In the automotive industiy, unpainted, unskinned polypropylene-based interior-trim components such as piUars, IPs, cluster bezels, center consoles, door panel components, handles, swatches and buttons, sills, and package shelves are candidates. The ability to add a highly durable, decorative mark to unskinned, unpainted components in economy vehicles, light trucks, and other industrial vehicles has strong economic incentives.

In road trafiic, information is also coded via different colours, e.g. traflic lights or vehicle lighting devices. However, as cameras and monitors only detect or reproduce a certain number of colours, it is important to determine whether these limitations result in deficits.
