Using Self-Control

Uses. Commercial monocalcium phosphate is available as both the anhydrous and the monohydrate salts. Most uses are based on acidic properties. Monocalcium phosphate is used to control acidity in powdered drink mixes, as an ingredient in effervescent tablets, as a plastics stabilizer, and in ceramics. Its single largest appHcation is as a leavening agent in bread, cake mixes, and self-rising flour. [Pg.334]

Surface properties are generally considered to be controlled by the outermost 0.5—1.0 nm at a polymer film (344). A logical solution, therefore, is to use self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) as model polymer surfaces. Traditional methods for fabricating nano-scaled arrays are usually based on lithographic techniques. Alternative new approaches rely on the use of self-organizing templates. Our goal in this chapter has been to outline some simple models of the relationship between self-control problems and addictive behavior.
