Another approach to obtain an overview on chemical information or on information related to specified topies in chemistry, is to use websites that eontain link lists. These link lists arc usually provided by universities and private persons and are classified into subject areas, Table 5-7 gives an sample of the thousands of link lists in chemistry, and in addition some other valuable URLs that deal with chcmoinformatics.

Recently Stroebel et al. published the first survey of Internet sites relating to various aspects of luminescence [56], In their classification they cite relevant companies and existing products, general websites, images, movies, and demonstrations for educational purposes. There are several useful websites that deal with the various topics of geometry. Visit these sites if you feel you need further clarification on these concepts. Each one has a unique method of presentation.

Every adult, whether traveling or not, should be immunized with tetanus toxoid and should also be fully immunized against poliomyelitis, measles (for those bom after 1956), and diphtheria. In addition, every traveler must fulfill the immunization requirements of the health authorities of the countries to be visited. These are listed in Health Information for International Travel, available from the Superintendent of Documents, United States Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402. The Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics also offers periodically updated recommendations for international travelers (see issue of April 15, 2002). Immunizations received in preparation for travel should be recorded on the International Certificate of Immunization. The United Nations Drug Control Programme (UNDCP) also has a particularly useful website (www.undcp.org) from where a large amount of interesting material and articles can be accessed and also downloaded. An on-line version of the Bulletin on Narcotics is also available from this site, and in addition, links provide access to the relevant international legislative documents and facilities for downloading these. 

A common way to find information on the Internet is by browsing ( surfing ) the World Wide web (WWW). However, as this can be time consuming and wasteful, browsing should be focused on relevant sites. Many of the most useful websites are those providing detailed lists and hypertext links to other locations. A useful place to find out what the Internet offers the chemist can be found at the URL http //www.chemdex.org.
