This standard form provides that if a claim should be made, the sponsor will indemnify and hold the relevant health authority/ trust/institution and its employees and agents harmless against all such claims (1) brought by, or on behalf of, research subjects taking part in a study, and (2) arising out of, or relating to. [Pg.399]

In a US study reported by Slovic about 30 per cent of white males appear to fall into the group that trusts institutions (Slovic, 2000, pp396—402). [Pg.93]

All questions above can be answered and the problems can be handled reasonably, but not at a level of a common user and by simple means. Special institutions, trusted archives of electronically signed documents must be established. Since these must be trusted institutions, some rules and regulations for them must be worked out, like for certification authorities and time stamp authorities. [Pg.319]

The authors thank Y. Oono and M. Balsera for invaluable contributions to the joint development of SMD and J. Gullingsrud for many suggestions in the preparation of the manuscript. Images of molecular systems were produced with the program VMD (Humphrey et al., 1996). This work was supported by grants from the National Institute of Health (PHS 5 P41 RR05969-04), the National Science Foundation (BIR-9318159, BIR 94-23827 (EQ)), and the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust. [Pg.60]

Acknowledgments S. Maude and L.R. Tai acknowledge the financial support of EU FP6 BASE grant. L.R.Tai also thanks the School of Chemistry, University of Leeds for a part studentship. R.P.W. Davies and B.Liu are grateful to the Dutch Polymer Institute (DPI) for financial contribution. The work was also partly supported by the Leeds Centre of Excellence in Medical Engineering funded by the Wellcome Trust and EPSRC, WT088908/z/09/z. [Pg.67]

David Taylor is Chief Pharmacist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry and Foundation President of the College of Mental Health Pharmacists. His main areas of research are pharmacokinetics and prescribing practice in mental health. His team at the Maudsley is widely involved in systemic reviews and meta-analyses of psychotropic drug therapy. David is lead author of the Maudsley 2001 Prescribing Guidelines (Martin Dunitz, 2001) and co-editor of Case Studies in Psychopharmacology (Martin Dunitz, 1998). [Pg.118]

We are pleased to present to you this book on Semiconductor Sensors in Physico-Chemical Studies, edited by Dr. Leonid Kupriyanov of the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry in Moscow. Translated from Russian by a professional translator, the prose still retains some of its local flavour although, we trust, it is clearly understandable throughout. [Pg.407]

The authors are grateful for financial support from the Swiss National Science Foundation, National Centre of Competence in Research Chemical Biology—Visualisation and Control of Biological Processes Using Chemistry (to PJD) and Dr. J. Jacobi Trust (to PNS). The authors thank Tse Wong for technical assistance, Maxime Dubois for the help in the synthesis of the compounds and Dr. Lucienne Juillerat-Jeanneret (Institute of Pathology, CHUV, Lausanne, Switzerland) for providing the MDA-MB-231 cells. [Pg.6]

The fund would be managed as Trust Fund for executing the master plan for used lamp recycling and may be rested with a fund managing institute (e.g., State Bank of India or Industrial Finance Corporation of India). [Pg.434]

It has always been my feeling that many textbooks fall short of their full potential because the author has never entirely made up his or her mind whether the subject matter is addressed wholly to students or, in part at least, to their mentors and the requirements of the two are, after all, different. This new edition is directed, as were its predecessors, unequivocally at the student I trust therefore that it will continue to prove helpful to chemistry students in general, irrespective of the particular institution in which they happen to be studying. [Pg.423]

This book was produced under the auspices of the Dyers Company Publications Trust. The Trust was instituted by the Worshipful Company of Dyers of the City of London in 1971 to encourage the publication of textbooks and other aids to learning in the science and technology of colour and coloration and related fields. The Society of Dyers and Colourists acts as trustee to the fund. [Pg.2]

We would like to thank the Edward Jenner Institute for Vaccine Research, the Leverhulme Trust, the Medical Research Council, Tenovus Scotland, the Wellcome Trust and the World Health Organisation for supporting our research on filarial nematodes. [Pg.418]

Racial/ethnic group membership was expected to be an important factor in an individual s level of trust of these institutions. Controlling for gender, age, education, and income, African Americans were about 40% less likely than whites to trust universities Asians and Hispanics were nearly twice as likely as whites to trust the federal government. However, race/ethnicity was not a factor in trust in the pharmaceutical industry nor in trust in health organizations. [Pg.23]

This work was carried out with the strategic guidance and financial support of Penn West Energy Trust, AERI (Alberta Energy Research Institute), Western Economic Diversification Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and the Alberta Government. [Pg.158]

Criticism of the proposed institute also came from another quarter, namely from the ranks of organized pharmacy. Already in December of 1918, Edward Kremers of the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, one of the nation s leading pharmaceutical educators and a researcher in plant chemistry, wrote to Frank Eldred of Eli Lilly and Company about the institute for drug research. Kremers complained "But why should American pharmaceutical manufacturers support an institution fostered by the American Chemical Society when pharmaceutical institutions are in the greatest need of all the financial support in sight. I trust that our pharmaceutical manufacturers will prove true to their own calling first" (44). [Pg.104]
