Trimethyl-ammonium chloride

Phenylstibine [58266-50-5] C H Sb, has been obtained by the reduction of phenyldiio do stihine [68972-61-2] CgH3l2Sb, (73) or phenyldichlorostibine [5035-52-9] 031130.2, (74) with lithium borohydride. It has also been prepared by the hydrolysis or methanolysis of phenylbis(trimethylsilyl)stibine [82363-95-9] C22H23Si2Sb (75). Diphenylstibine [5865-81-6] C22H22Sb, can be prepared by the interaction of diphenylchlorostibine [2629-47-2] C22H2QClSb, with either Hthium borohydride (76) or lithium aluminum hydride (77). It is also formed by hydrolysis or methanolysis of diphenyl (trimethylsilyl)stibine [69561-88-2] C H SbSi (75). Dimesitylstibine [121810-02-4] h.3.s been obtained by the protonation of lithium dimesityl stibide with trimethyl ammonium chloride (78). The x-ray crystal stmcture of this secondary stibine has also been reported. [Pg.206]

The methylation of 51.4 parts by weight of D,L-3-hydroxy-N-methyl-morphinan is carried out with a methylating solution obtained from 51.5 parts by weight of phenyl-trimethyl-ammonium-chloride. The D,L-3-methoxy-N-methyl-morphinan is isolated in the form of its hydrobromide, which melts with 1 mol of water at 92°-94°C, without water at 239°-240°C. The base isolated from the aqueous solution by means of sodium carbonate melts at 81°-83 C. [Pg.461]

Sonawane et al. [90] investigated the affect of ultrasound and nanoclay for the adsorption of phenol. Three types of nanoclay tetrabutyl ammonium chloride (TBAC), N-acetyl-N,N,N trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (HDTMA), modified under sonication, were synthesized which showed healthier adsorption of phenol within only 10 min in waste water. The interlamellar spacing of all the three clay increased due to incorporation of long chain quaternary salts under cavitational effect. [Pg.293]

The study of these fluorine-containing salts was then extended, and we prepared other new compounds in this series, e.g. 2-fluoroethyl glycine hydrochloride and 2-fluoroethyl betaine hydrochloride (that is, carbofluoroethoxy-methyl trimethyl ammonium chloride). The first of these was readily prepared by the Fischer-Speier esterification of glycine with fluoro-ethyl alcohol ... [Pg.31]

The influence of the addition of cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, CTAC, to the reverse micellar solution affects the droplet size and micellar interactions, as demonstrated by the DQLS experiment (64). Addition of CTAC to micellar system at a given water content leaves the droplet size unchanged, whereas a decrease in the intermicellar attraction has been observed. This decrease is more important for high CTAC concentrations. This has been interpreted to steric repulsion induced by the long hydrocarbon tail of CTAC (C ft). Thus, the addition of this compound to CdS synthesis could modify the nucleation and/or growth process. The experiments were performed by solulization of CTAC in the micellar solution containing either sodium sulfide or Cd(AOT)2. [Pg.226]

Annaka and Tanaka recently found the presence of several phases in polymer gels between the fully swollen and shrunken phases [46]. This interesting phenomenon was observed in a polyampholyte gel, consisting of acrylic acid (anionic constituent, AAc) and methacryl-amido-propyl-trimethyl-ammonium-chloride (cationic, M APT AC). The chemical structures of these constituents are shown in Fig. 32. A series of copolymer gels were prepared by radical copolymerization, where the total molar concentration of the constituents was kept constant at 700 mM and the molar ratio of AAc/MAPTAC was varied systematically. [Pg.55]

Several other studies have also been made in an attempt to account theoretically for the phase transition in terms different from those of the Flory-Huggins theory. Otake et al. [55] thus proposed a theoretical model that takes hydrophobic interaction into account in explaining the thermally induced discontinuous volume collapse of hydrogels. In addition, Prausnitz et al. [56] proposed a lattice model, an improvement of which was made to explain the swelling curves of gels consisting of /V,/V -methylenebis(acrylamide) (MBA)-crosslinked copolymers of AAm with [(methacrylamide)propyl]trimethyl-ammonium chloride (MAPTAC) [57],... [Pg.161]
