Quatemarization of the tertiary Nb atom with fluorine-containing alkyl groups furnished a series of quaternary salts. However, none of them was reported to be more active than the parent alkaloid (387). 

Fluorine containing ammonium salts. As amino compounds often have marked physiological action, it seemed worth while to prepare compounds containing both fluorine and a quaternary amino grouping. 

It is worth noting that when trying to obtain other polymorphs of Bechgaard salts incorporating octahedral, fluorine-containing anions as in (TMTSF)2PF6 or (TMTSF)2ShF6 only the triclinic phase is obtained. 

Likewise, the electrochemical fluorination of the partially fluorinated ether containing disulphonyl fluoride, CH2(0CF2CF2S02F)2 has been shown to produce a mixture of both the difluoromethane- (19% yield) and the fluorometha-ne- (20% yield) sulphonyl fluorides. New fluorinated ether salt derivatives of these products, e.g. Ca[CF2(0CF2CF2S03)2] were prepared and characterised... 

Instead of methylaluminoxane, fluorinated aromatic compounds, such as a, a, n-trifluorotoluene can be used (36). The only known fluorine containing compounds of octa-valent osmium are osmium trioxide difluoride, OsOgF, and its salts. Osmium dioxide tetrafluoride, OsOjFg, and osmium oxide hexafluoride, OsOFg, are unknown.
