The SP procedure of water-soluble vitamins from multivitamin tablets is particularly challenging due to the diverse analytes of varied hydrophobicities and pfC. Water-soluble vitamins (WSVs) include ascorbic acid (vitamin C), niacin, niacinamide, pyridoxine (vitamin B ), thiamine (vitamin Bj), folic acid, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and others. While most WSVs are highly water soluble, riboflavin is quite hydrophobic and insoluble in water. Folic acid is acidic while pyridoxine and thiamine are basic. Yeast protein is easily digested (87%) and provides amino acids essential to human nutrition. Most commercial yeasts show the following pattern of amino acids, among others, as percent of protein 8.2% lysine 5.5% valine 7.9% leucine 2.5% methionine 4.5% phenylalanine 1.2% tryptophan 1.6% cystine 4% histidine 5% tyrosine and 5% arginine. Vitamin B complex is the collective term for a number of water-soluble vitamins found particularly in dairy products, cereals and liver.Vitamin B (thiamine) is used by mouth for dietary supplement purposes and by injection in emergency treatment of Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome.
