Testing technologies applications

The reactivity of Ti02 with alcohols is important in a number of technological applications. For example, alcohols can be used as energy carriers in renewable sources and they are also employed as model pollutants so that environmental cleaning strategies can be tested. 

Is the BCS that was developed with reference to chemically characterized and well-defined synthetic drug substances relevant for application and or adoption to botanical preparations (8) If one assumes, as is reasonable, that bioavailability of the active component(s) in a botanical dosage form depends on both solubility and permeability, the solubility of the botanical extract could be controlled through appropriate formulation technology and dissolution testing. The applicability of the BCS to botanical preparations will certainly be increasingly researched, debated, and discussed in the coming years. 

A proposal for the comprehensive study of chemical processes in a variety of important condensed-phase systems using modern theoretical methodology has been presented. The primary goals of the research are to provide microscopic information on the mechanisms and structural and dynamical properties of the chemical systems proposed for investigation, to test the applicability of modern ab initio molecular dynamics (MD) by comparison with experiment, and to develop and apply novel ab initio MD techniques in simulating complex chemical systems. The proposed research will contribute to the forefront of modern theoretical chemistry and address a number of important technological issues. The PI has carefully attempted to demonstrate his knowledge, ability, and resources to carry out the proposed research projects. 

BioEnviroTech, Inc., is a supplier of bacterial products based upon natural saprophytic (those that digest only dead organic matter) and facultative (those that can modify their metabolism to live in the presence of free oxygen and with exposure to sunlight) bacteria for bioremediation. The technology is commercially available and has been tested by the National Environmental Technology Applications Center (NETAC) of the University of Pittsburgh Applied Research Center.

Experiments using natural chemicals are designed to represent actual aquatic environments and to test the applicability to actual natural and technological systems of studies using mathematical and model chemicals. As is often or even usually the case, the speciation of chemicals in real aquatic systems is not known, so the identity of the natural chemicals is described operationally. 

There are, however, three other types of important and qualitatively different mechanical tests, representing deformation modes which occur often during the practical use of engineering materials. These tests, which will be discussed briefly below, can be used to anticipate the performance of a plastic part as a function of time under some deformation states which are encountered very often in technological applications namely, constant stress for a long time,... 

A positive identification test uniquely applicable to the excipients should be established. This should be achieved through analytical technology, such as infrared spectrophotometry and chromatography.
