Temporal factors

The main chemico-analytical properties of the designed ionoselective electrodes have been determined. The work pH range of the electrodes is 1 to 5. The steepness of the electrode function is close to the idealized one calculated for two-charged ions (26-29 mV/pC). The electrode function have been established in the concentration range from 0.1 to 0.00001 mole/1. The principal advantage of such electrodes is the fact that thiocyanate ions are simultaneously both complexing ligands and the ionic power. The sensitivity (the discovery limits), selectivity (coefficient of selectivity) and the influence of the main temporal factors (drift of a potential, time of the response, lifetime of the membranes) were determined for these electrodes.

The purpose of an Exposure Route and Receptor Analysis is to provide methods for estimating individual and population exposure. The results of this step combined with the output of the fate models serve as primary input to the exposure estimation step. Unlike the other analytic steps, the data prepared in this step are not necessarily pollutant-specific. The two discrete components of this analysis are (1) selection of algorithms for estimating individual intake levels of pollutants for each exposure pathway and (2) determination of the regional distribution of study area receptor populations and the temporal factors and behavioral patterns influencing this distribution. 

Pain is always subjective thus pain is best diagnosed based on patient description, history, and physical exam. A baseline description of pain can be obtained by assessing PQRST characteristics (palliative and provocative factors, quality, radiation, severity, and temporal factors). Attention should be given to mental factors that may lower the pain threshold (anxiety, depression, fatigue, anger, fear). Behavioral, cognitive, social, and cultural factors may also affect the pain experience.

Thirdly, the authors should have reported the basic data on which the conclusions are founded, even if sophisticated statistical analyses were employed. At the very least, they should have given the numbers of exposed and unexposed cases and controls in a case-control study and the numbers of cases observed and expected in a cohort study. Further tabulations by time since exposure began and other temporal factors are also important. In a cohort study, data on all cancer sites and all causes of death should have been given, to reveal the possibility of reporting bias. In a case-control study, the effects of investigated factors other than the exposure of interest should have been reported.

Hyperaccumulators of Ni ( nickel plants ) are distributed throughout the world but only in regions that have not previously been glaciated. The main centres of distribution are shown in Fig. 4-2. The presence of these plants only in non-glaciated regions is probably a temporal factor. Presumably plant evolution and adaptation to the hostile environment of nickel-rich soils is a process considerably longer than the 10000 years that have elapsed since the last period of glaciation.

A potential problem when measuring drug activity relates to the temporal ability of systems to come to equilibrium, or at least to a steady state. Cost effectiveness = Relative effectiveness x dosage x price per weight. The inhibitor dosage rate depends on the local water conditions and temporal factors, such as the time of the year. Temporal factors include system design recommendations relating to the temporal factors that impact workload, including time pressure, shiftwork, and the temporal distribution of workload.
