Summaries, collection fields

The RAC and processed commodities to be collected for each crop are listed in OPPTS 860.1000. Close attention should be paid to the definition and description of many of the commodities listed in the footnotes to Table 1. Reviewing a summary of the actual commercial processing practices for the crop may be helpful. Once the processing procedures and the agronomic practices to be simulated in the field residue trial are understood, a field study can be designed that will truly represent commercial production and processing practices. This will ensure that the study will yield useful, reliable, and accurate data to be used in the tolerance setting process. 

Researchers should be aware of, and account for, factors that can affect the performance of field studies with respect to precision, bias and possible error influences. The major factors affecting collectors, tracers and analytical approaches have been discussed elsewhere in this article. In summary, these are collection efficiency, stability and detection levels, respectively. In summary, the amazing breadth and depth of research in carotenoids are reasons why it draws investigators are drawn to this fascinating field of research. The research spans the continuum, from detailed studies of the roles of photoprotective carotenoids in plants to the potential application in the prevention of disease in humans. This is translational research at its best and I commend the editor, Dr. John Landrum, for assembling such an interesting and informative collection of current research. 

This new account of the nature, timing and sequence of volcanic eruptions in the Buffalo Head Hills kimberlite field is made possible by improved age determinations. In summary, three different volcanic settings are recognized in the Buffalo Head Hills kimberlite field Late Cretaceous Smoky Group equivalent intra- and extra-crater facies. Late Cretaceous and Paleocene intrusive sills and/or dykes, and Paleocene Paskapoo Formation equivalent intra-crater facies. Collectively, these episodes define a kimberlite complex characterized by tabular kimberlite layers of varying ages. 

Examples of quality assurance protocols that are considered standard practice in any data collection scheme include the use of both internal control samples (e.g. use of field blanks and spikes6) and external quality assurance samples (e.g. duplicate samples of known concentrations sent to different laboratories) to determine the extent of intra- and interlaboratory variation. Ensuring that the data have not been compromised or corrupted may also require setting up accessible data archives of original paper or electronic records so that the accuracy of summaries of the data published in documents and articles can be verified. 

Molecular beam techniques are now very well established, for the study of both spectroscopy and fundamental reactive and non-reactive scattering dynamics. They have been described in numerous review articles and books, so in this chapter we content ourselves with details sufficient to understand the beautifiil experiments which have been performed, but insufficient for those readers with ambitions to enter the field experimentally. For those requiring more details, the 1988 and 1992 two-volume collection of speciahst articles edited by Scoles [1] constitutes an excellent summary, with many references to the original literature.

This discussion is prepared to provide introductory information for researchers who are not actively involved in supercritical fluid research, but who have interest in following developments in the field. While it is not possible in one short chapter to provide a summary of the work of the last century, several review papers and symposia collections have been published recently which provide excellent introductory material (4-9). In addition, McHugh and Krukonis have recently published an outstanding survey book of supercritical fluid studies (10). 

In summary, the collection of articles presented in this volume seems to be well chosen in topics covering the most pertinent questions of current pharmaceutical applications. It is a volume from which much can be learned and many stimulating ideas may emerge. It demonstrates the liveliness of NMR and its continuing importance in all fields of structural and analytical problems. 

Considering only frameworks made up entirely of tetrahedral comer-sharing TO4 species, full details of all the structure types are collected, refereed and published by the Structure Commission of the International Zeolite Association. The most recent publication indicates that around 170 framework types (each of which is given a unique three-letter code) have been unambiguously identified and both hardcopy publications (in particular the so-called Atlas of Zeolite Framework Types ) and the continuously updated structural summary on the web site (www.iza-structure.org) are indispensable resources for the researcher in this field.
