In some facilities, there is a need for refrigerated storage of one or more flammable or combustible raw materials, catalysts, intermediate products, or finished goods. These materials may be in solid or liquid form in containers, boxes, drums, or small portable tanks. Depending on quantity of materials to be stored and required temperature, these facilities can range from cold storage warehouses for storage of food products to walk-in freezer rooms for pharmaceutical materials. 

Manual fire suppression is not normally dependable as a primary fire protection strategy for chemical storage warehouses. Fires may grow to uncontrollable size before effective manual response can be employed, and may pose severe risks to firefighters. In warehouses, manual suppression usually involves far more water application than automatic systems, aggravating problems of disposal of fire water runoff.

By current practice, large quantities of AN are never accumulated or exposed to heat or fires. However, fertilizer storage warehouses still explode occasionally, and AN has become a popular, inexpensive, and readily available material for terrorists, for example, in the World Trade Center bombing in New York City in 1992 and the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995. 

Several experiments have also been carried out in wool storage warehouses, with consequent reductions in clothes moth infestations. In one such experiment a check was afforded by the use of electric light-and-fan moth traps. During a 2-week period before the fogging, 11 traps captured 5589 moths. In the 2-week period after fogging, the same traps captured only 3 moths. 

In the field, all types of freezer storage facilities are used. The investigator may have a food freezer at his home that Is used for residue samples or the freezer may be in a rented mini-storage warehouse across the city from his home. The samples may be stored in a commercial freezer facility, In a walk-in freezer at a university, or some other facility chosen by the field investigator. Each freezer is equipped with a recording thermometer. Each time the chart is changed, the calibration is checked with a mercury thermometer and the reading recorded. All freezer records are retained in the data archive. 

Rigid polyurethane foam is used primarily as thermal insulation for buildings, trucks, rail cars, shipping containers, tanks, pipelines, cold-storage warehouses, and frozen food display cases. 

Spraying. Two-component rigid-foam systems can be sprayed onto any surface at a temperature of about 10°C and higher. Examples of spray-insulation applications are outdoor tanks, such as heavy oil-storage tanks, wall surfaces in cold-storage warehouses, and provisions of ships. 

Rigid urethane foams have been used exclusively in areas which require high thermal insulation and flame retardance, such as household refrigerators, deep freezers, and cold-storage warehouses. However due to the low flame retardance and poor fire resistance of rigid urethane foams, serious fire hazards have been reported and building applications... 

STORAGE Handle and store under nitrogen outside or detached storage is preferred, inside storage should be in a standard flammable liquids storage warehouse, room or cabinet. 

The high voltage cable facility consists of 74 machines and areas that are distributed within the cable manufacturing stations shown in Fig. 9 together with WIP areas, forklift parking, storages, warehouses, shop floor offices, lounges, etc. These areas are shown in Table 2.
