Static ports

At the compressor exit, predominate frequencies of 48A existed up to speeds of 6800 rpm. At 8400 rpm, the 48A and 86A frequencies were of about equal magnitudes—the only signal where the 48A and 86A frequencies were the same. The pressure was measured from a static port in the... [Pg.315]

Event 3 As each DCU receives air data from both AlXl, a simultaneous loss of both ADC outputs must occur. In this case study, ADCl determines barometric pressure data from the port static port, while ADC2 uses the starboard static port (see Fig. 1.7 in Chapter 1). Problems with these inputs have not been considered to result in an annunciated loss of altitude display, as it is more likely that misleading data would be fed to the PFDs (unless data are out of bounds resulting in an error being raised). Hence, these inputs are considered only in the FTA for 4.1.1. c. 1. [Pg.76]

Event 3 This event is the opposite of Event 2 and considers the case of loss of ADC2 combined with static port input to ADCl being blocked. [Pg.80]

The safety working group should therefore focus on blockages of the port and starboard static ports either together, or with the associated ADC. [Pg.87]

A static port, a very small opening on the outside of the fuselage, measures the ambient or nonram air pressure. Displayed altitude is directly related to static pressure, where 1" mercury decrease = 1000ft. [Pg.366]

Failures due to maintenance deficiencies. For instance, blocked pitot-static ports on an aircraft. [Pg.94]

Freezing of pitot-static ports robbing the aircraft of airspeed and altitude information. [Pg.101]

Estimate acceptable air leakages resulting from leakage around static and rotary seals, valves, access ports, and other items of mechanical nature required for process operation from the following equations and the specific leak rates 0 indicated in Table 6-8, which is based on w < 10 lb/hr. [Pg.368]

It should be noted that the gas flow process in the port is not isentropic because mass and heat addihons occur in the port. This implies that there is stagnation pressure loss and so the specific impulse is reduced for nozzleless rockets. When a convergent nozzle is attached to the rear end of port, the static pressure at the port exit, Pj, continues to decrease to the atmospheric pressure and the specific impulse of the nozzleless rocket motor is increased. The expansion process in a divergent nozzle is an isentropic process, as described in Section 1.2. [Pg.429]

Zeolon 200H (Z200H), Zeolon 900 Na (Z900Na) (both synthetic large port mordenltes), and Zeolon 500 (Z500) (a natural chabazite-erionite). The approach to static equilibrium for these zeolites is shown in Figure 2. [Pg.205]
