Sports fields

These grass-like and resident instadations require substantial amounts of synthetic materials. A typical sports field covered with artificial turf requires approximately 15,000 kg of fabric, 15,000—30,000 kg of shock-absorbing underpad, and 5,000—10,000 kg of adhesive and seaming materials. The artificial surface for a 0.40-km miming track may require 50,000—70,000 kg of materials. Paint striping and marking of turf, tracks, and courts cad for additional materials. 

Some readers may feel that I have been unduly optimistic (or just plain presumptuous) in writing this book, when I am not actually carrying out research on any of these metals. They may well be right, though I would point out that the spectator does get a different view of events on the sports fields to that obtained by the player. 

In this competitive world, especially in the sports field, athletes try their best to outperform each other. Unfortunately, some athletes resort to the use of performance-enhancing drugs to attain a competitive edge. Table 11.2 is a list of banned performance-enhancing drugs published by the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This list is effective from January 1,2007. 

This chapter focuses on the importance of triazines for weed control in the establishment and maintenance of warm-season turfgrasses. While many other herbicides have been developed for use in warm-season turfgrasses, the triazines are still an integral and economically important family of herbicides for homeowners, lawncare experts, sports field managers, golf course superintendents, sod producers, and other turfgrass specialists. 

The range of uses for polyolefin plastics, and for polypropylene in particular, has been expanded greatly in recent years one application of interest in this context comprised large mouldings (approximately 1 m by 0.5 m in area) designed to interlock and to be placed on football grounds or other sports fields... 

Uses herbicide, onions, carrots, lawns, sport fields, ornamentals... 

Herbicides are the most important pesticide class in terms of production volume and market value. In agriculture they are used to control weeds. Weeds are unwanted plants, such as grasses, sedges, and broadleaf plants, that compete with the desired crop plants for nutrition, water, and land, thereby reducing the yield. Herbicides also have nonagricultural uses as they help in erasing vegetation on streets, railroad tracks, sports fields, and other public areas. 

One of the most interesting things about sports-related words is how many of them are applicable in other parts of our lives. Here, you ll find many sports words used every day in other arenas. (Note that arena can be defined as a sports field and as a place where events unfold). When we use sports words to describe other ideas, we re using them as metaphors. As you read the list, note how often the words work off the field as well as on. Write down other sports words that come to mind, and be sure to look them up in a dictionary if you re not sure about their exact meanings. 

Tapes or yarns for artifidal grass sports fields require attributes of both pigmented textile fibers and woven tapes long-term nonfading color and physical properties. This synthetic turf is popular because of its low maintenance costs, but the plastic must last several years under harsh use conditions for the high installation costs to pay themselves back as savings. Case 4.1 reviews such an application of PE turf [4-12, 4-14). 

This effect was compoiinded by the later commercial exploitation of the Mods and Rockers division. The apotheosis of the Divide and Rule theme was the suggestion that the problem could be solved by letting the two groups fight it out in a park or sports field. 

The outer face of an impounding dam should be planted with trees. Deep roots help to stabilize the soil. The silted-up settling pond areas should likewise be planted with trees or otherwise be used as pasture or arable land. Other possible uses are as sports fields or recreational facilities, as such areas are usually very flat. 

Improve the aesthetic of sports fields, running tracks, tennis courts. Formula 1 circuits and so on. 

Doing chemistry is safe, much safer than driving a car. A chemistry laboratory is about the safest place in a school or university, far safer than the sports field. But it is only by ceaseless vigilance and attention to safety that it remains so.

Nowadays, the use of a heart rate monitor is very common and not merely use at the hospital as a patient monitor. Generally, heart rate monitor was used by a person who cares about their heart to ensure that they have a normal heart rate. The early detection of the abnormal heart rate can help to prevent from the serious disease. In the sport field, the heart rate monitor is needed to determine the range of heart rate. This range of heart rate should be compatible with the exercise done by an athlete to get an optimum exercise and to prevent from serious injury. 

Research and development of a heart rate monitor in the sport field began in 1977 when the first wireless electrocardiogram (ECG) heart rate monitor is invented by Polar Electro and used as a training aid for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski team [5,10]. The transmitter was attached to the chest by either disposable electrodes or an elastic chest belt, while the receiver was a watch worn on the wrist.
