In preparation for a field wide quick look correlation, all well logs need to be corrected for borehole inclination. This is done routinely with software which uses the measured depth below the derrick floor ( alonghole depth below derrick floor AHBDFor measured depth , MD) and the acquired directional surveys to calculate the true vertical depth subsea (TVSS). This is the vertical distance of a point below a common reference level, for instance chart datum (CD) or mean sea level (MSL). Figure 5.41 shows the relationship between the different depth measurements. 

The results of corrosion surveys are received by the Surveyor in an agreed format using Forms TMl - TM8, preferably with the LR software freely issued to the approved firms. The report will highlight any areas where corrosion has gone beyond the permitted maximum diminution, which may be as low as 15% of the nominal thickness for a single item, and will also identify areas of "substantial corrosion T.e., any in excess of 75% of the permitted maximum. Chapter 2 stressed the need to consider the results of plant modifications before they are made and to prevent unauthorized ones. This applies to computers as well as traditional plant. Data-dependent acquisition ability has been developed and incorporated into most software packages [MetaboLynx, Xcalibur, and Analyst Information Dependent Acquisition (IDA)]. In data-dependent acquisition mode, a mass spectrometer decides on the fly whether to collect MS/MS or MSn data, remain in full scan MS mode, or conduct other survey scans based upon user-defined criteria. Product ion spectra of potential metabolites can be automatically acquired in a single LC/ MS run. The brief survey of some online resources should prove useful to students and researchers. Of all the fields one could address in this short text, those of computer hardware, software, and online resources will be the one most quickly outdated. Fortunately, updates are readily available through a search of the World Wide Web.
