Selection Software

The type of system chosen determines the types of hardware and software needed. It also determines the processes for acquiring the necessary hardware and software. The hardware selection may include desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, fax machines, and storage devices, and the software selection includes the system development software, the database management software, the data communication software, the data conversion software, specialized proprietary software, servers, and hrewalls. 

MIMOS II has three temperature sensors one on the electronics board and two on the SH. One temperature sensor in the SH is mounted near the internal reference absorber, and the measured temperature is associated with the reference absorber and the internal volume of the SH. The other sensor is mounted outside the SH at the contact ring assembly. It gives the approximate analysis temperature for the sample on the Martian surface. This temperature is used to route the Mossbauer data to the different temperature intervals (maximum of 13, with the temperature width software selectable) assigned in memory areas. Shown in Fig. 3.21 are the data of the three temperature sensors taken on Mars (rover Opportunity at Meridiani Planum) in January 2004 between 12 10 PM on Sol 10 (10 Martian days after landing) and 11 30 AM on Sol 11. The temperature of the electronics board inside the rover is much higher than the temperatures inside the SH and the contact plate sensor, which are nearly identical and at ambient Martian temperature. 

An example of a simulated overnight experiment on Mars is shown in Fig. 3.22 for eight temperature intervals using the Compositional Calibration Target (CCT made out of magnetite rock slab) on the rover as the target. In the case of contact-ring temperature sensor failure, the internal temperature sensor would be used (software selectable). 

To minimize the risk of data loss because of power failure or other reasons, the Mossbauer data are copied to a nonvolatile EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) every 9 minutes (software selectable). As the size of the EEPROM is smaller than the SRAM, the EEPROM can accumulate only up to ten Mossbauer spectra as a subset of the data from the SRAM. These spectra are obtained from the SRAM according to a pre-defined summation strategy.

The Spanish language edition of USP 23-NF 18 was published in 1995 as a DOS-based electronic product. In 1998, the product was converted to a Windows-based electronic product. Work on the translation of USP-NF text began in 1993 with the exploration of machine translation software suitable for use in the translation of the characteristic text of the USP-NF. The software selected was ENG-SPAN-AM from the Pan American Health Organization. This was fortified by a microdictionary and software macros specific to the compendia. Since the initial release in 1995, the USP has released Supplements for the Spanish language edition concurrent with the release of the English language Supplements. The database continues to be kept abreast of revisions to the USP and NF, but it was not marketed after 1998. 

The software selected should be suitable for the intended use. The programmes used should be able to provide the required quality and management information reliably and accurately. They should be user-friendly and staff should be trained adequately in their use. Where possible, different programmes used should be compatible so that data can be transferred between them without having to be retyped. 

Utilization of the Poisson and ZIP in population PK/PD modeling requires coding the appropriate distribution into the software selected for analysis. Example code will be given as appropriate for NONMEM implementation however, the fundamentals are applicable to other software programs.

There are a number of approaches to providing safe application software in SISs. However, regardless of the approach used to achieve safe application software, it is assumed that the safety life cycle steps prior to application software development have been executed properly (for example, hazard and risk assessment, functional description development, equipment (hardware and software) selection). 

No matter which version control software selected, a multi-user interface is designed within iQT to help multiple user working together.
