Small-cell malignant lymphomas

CD25 functions as a low-affinity interleukin-2 receptor and may be found on a number of cell types including activated T cells. This antigen is characteristically expressed on hairy cell leukemia, mast cell lesions, and certain T-cell malignancies but may be seen at low levels in certain B-cell lymphomas, particularly small cell lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Targeted therapy is available for this antigen (Ontak). [Pg.158]

The malignant lymphomas are hematologic cancers that consist of a cluster of diseases of the lymphoid tissue. The primary malignant cells for lymphomas are lymphocytes of B-cell, T-cell, and NK-cell origin. These cells originate from a small population of... [Pg.1371]

K., Immunohistologic characterization of two malignant lymphomas of germinal center type (centroblastic/centrocytic and centrocytic) with monoclonal antibodies. Follicular and diffuse lymphomas of small-cleaved-cell type are related but distinct entities. Am. J. Pathol. 117, 262-272 (1984). [Pg.338]

PURPOSE Mantle-cell lymphoma (MCL), immunocytoma (IMC), and small B-cell lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) are B-cell malignancies that express CD20 and are incurable with standard therapy. [Pg.185]

Peripheral T-cell non-Hodgkin s lymphomas of low malignancy prospective study of 25 patients with pleomorphic small cell lymphoma, lymphoepitheloid cell (Lennert s) lymphoma and T-zone lymphoma. [Pg.185]

Many of the tumors of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses fall under the category of round cell neoplasms. Among these are olfactory neuroblastoma, sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma, malignant melanoma, neuroendocrine carcinoma-small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, malignant lymphoma, extramedullary plasmacytoma, invasive-ectopic pituitary adenoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and Ewing s sarcoma (ES)-peripheral neuroectodermal tumor (ES/ PNET). But there is also a host of other epithelial lesions that are unique to the sinonasal tract. [Pg.262]

This collection of small malignant cells must be distinguished from small cell undifferentiated carcinoma and lymphoma (see Table 20.8). The examiner should look for cellular processes. To indicate medulloblastoma, the fibrillar cellular processes must come directly from the... [Pg.858]

Anthracyclines - Two reports of Phase II clinical trials with 4 -epido-xorubicin (4 -ED) in a variety of malignancies have appeared. The response rate in previously untreated breast cancer patients was 54%. Responses were also seen in endometrial carcinoma, cervical carcinoma, non-Hodgkins lymphoma, melanoma, and skin cancer.Only a single partial responder was seen in 34 evaluable cases of non-small cell lung... [Pg.142]
