Sensor-actor system

Abstract. Traffic management systems are complex networks integrating sensors, actors, communication on different levels and humans as active part, consisting of road-side infrastructure coupled with advanced driver assistance systems and on-board data collection facilities. 

All process control components and security relevant sensors and actors are connected to an uninterrupted power supply (UPS). In the event of a blackout a regular shutdown of the electrolysis system as well as the documentation of all measured values and incidents is guaranteed.

The term industry 4.0 stands for the fourth industrial revolution (after steam engine, mass production, and the introduction of electronics). It stands for the technical integration of so-called cyber-physical systems (CPS) into production and logistics, the use of the Internet in industrial processes, and the consequences this has for the value-added chain, new business models, and further processing and services. The design of the SURV-TRACK application raises several challenges. There aret5 ically three underlying questions that should be answered in the SURV-TRACK framework (1) How should the system components effectively communicate with each other (2) How can the tasks be efficiently subdivided among the different actors (mobile robots and sensor nodes) of the system (3) How can a mobile robot plan its path to accomplish its mission ... 

Network Architecture Central to devising robust, reliable, and Quality-of-Service (QoS) aware communication services that ensure efficient interaction among the different system components, namely, the sensor nodes, mobile robots, and the control station. The network architecture must consider the heterogeneity of resources of the different actors since sensor nodes are more constrained than mobile robots and the control station. In the next subsection, we propose a network architecture that satisfies the aforementioned requirements.
