Restricted work

Restricted work activity occurs when an employer or healthcare professional recommends that the worker can t do the routine functions of his or her job for a full workday. Count the number of calendar days the employee was on restricted work activity or was away from work as a result of the recordable injury or illness. An injury is a wound or damage to the body resulting from an event in the work environment. Examples include cuts, punctures, lacerations, abrasions, fractures, bruises, contusions, chipped teeth, amputations, insect bites, electrocution, or thermal, chemical, electrical, or radiation burns. Classify sprains and strain injuries to muscles, joints, and connective tissues as injuries when they result from a slip, trip, fall, or other similar accidents. [Pg.215]

OSHA considers skin diseases as illnesses caused by exposure to chemicals, plants, or other hazardous substances.
