Basilicon Ointment. Take 10 ounces resi i, 4 ouncea yellow wax, and 16 ounces lard melt thorn together, strain through mu.slin, and stir cousUntly until cool. This is the resin ointment of the U. S. Phannacopffiia. Tho British officinal preparation contains only 8 ounces resin, and. substitutes simple ointment for the lard. [Pg.300]

As a pharmaceutical, methyl salicylate is used in liniments and ointments for the relief of pain and for rheumatic conditions.
