Use as a base coat sealer on porous, resilient flooring surfaces. Polishes applied over AA-417-S1 will not soak into the floor surface and therefore build gloss with fewer coats. Floor underlayments are utilized to produce a level and smooth surface before placing vinyl tile, asphalt tile, rubber tile, or other resilient flooring materials. Acrylic latex modified underlayments are ideally suitable for leveling floors prior to the installation of these surfacing materials, since these underlayments provide an excellent substrate for bonding purposes, as well as offering good chemical resistance to tile adhesives and solvents which some of them contain.

Engineers and designers should select equipment for installation which has low vibration and noise characteristics. They can require permissible maximum noise levels in specifications for new equipment. They can determine whether an operation, process, or piece of equipment that is noisy can be avoided or eliminated by use of a quieter one. Equipment that might vibrate should be mounted on firm, solid foundations. If equipment vibrates, they can determine whether or not its characteristics can be changed by use of devices such as dynamic dampers, rubber or plastic bumpers, flexible mountings and couplings, or resilient flooring. Where vibrations of fixed equipment cannot be eliminated, mount the equipment on vibration isolators to prevent transmission of motion.

Resilient floors are typically vinyl, modified vinyl, and to a lesser extent asphalt, rubber, and linoleum. Resilient floors are so named because they are quiet and lessen fatigue underfoot. Resilient floors are typically cleaned with mild cleaners.
