Rehearsing the Presentation

If the client has skills deficits in coping effectively with a high-risk situation, then the next step is to ascertain whether the skill set is present but not being generated in this particular situation. The metaphor of "reader as jury member" fails to capture such a requirement of the reader. In the context of the legal system in the United States, jury members are rarely trained in the topics examined by expert witnesses. In addition, the oral design presentation is discussed and suggestions are made for the organization of the presentation, the media used, methods for rehearsing, and written handouts. Also discussed, are typical criteria for evaluation and the usage of videotapes.

The exact nature of the monomer rehearsal of the hbrary strongly depends on the size of the library. The three Rs of successful public speaking are Reflect - give sufficient thought to all aspects of your presentation, particularly at the planning stage. Rehearse - to improve your delivery. Rewrite - modify the content and style of your material in response to your own ideas and to the comments of others. 

Use note cards with key phrases and words it is best to avoid using a full script at the final presentation. As you rehearse and your confidence improves, a set of cards may be a more appropriate format for your notes.
