Legal system

American traders who have been visiting China since the Chinese opened the door to the US continue to meet their share of frustrations. The Chinese are only now allowing foreigners to deal with end-users of the products, but trade continues to be conducted "Chinese style"—that is, the Chinese reluctantly enter into long-term contracts—but there is still an absence of a conventional legal system in which to conduct trade. 

The secondary legislation consists mainly of regulations, directives, and recommendations. The purpose of the regulations is the unihcation of the law and thus, encroach furthest on the national legal systems as they are mandatory, i.e., apply in full in all Member States, and have direct applicability, i.e., do not have to be implemented into national law. 

In contrast to the regulations, the purpose of the directives is harmonization of the law. A directive is binding on the Member States as regards the objective to be achieved but leaves it to the national authorities to decide on how the agreed objective is to be incorporated into their national legal systems. That means that a directive does not supersede the laws of the Member States but places the Member States under an obligation to adapt their national law in hne with the EU rules. 

Potential reasons for noncompliance include resistance to taking medication in either the child, the parent, or both incomplete or poorly understood directions for taking the medication and poor organization of medication administration. In addition, parents or legal guardians may be resistant to treatment if they feel pressured to have the evaluation and treatment provided by outside agencies such as the school, child protective services, or the legal system. 

As discussed earlier, forensic pharmacology and toxicology are not limited to the study of drugs of abuse or poisons. These fields of science also have a growing role in the legal system to help resolve civil issues related to chemical exposure and cancer causation, medical malpractice as a result of drug interactions, and product liability issues. 

We would propose that all mentally ill persons, whether adjudicated or presumed incompetent, retain the right to articulate their objection to or refusal of treatment and that any such concerns must be heard. The critical factor regarding treatment refusals by the mentally ill is whether, when, how, and by whom such a refusal can be overridden. In our opinion, the decision to override a treatment refusal is best made by medical personnel rather than the legal system the override decision should be allowed in all circumstances, not just emergencies and it can and should be made expeditiously ( 19). 

The central core of this delusional variant is that one is loved in a highly idealized, romantic, or spiritual manner. Sometimes the delusion is kept secret, but frequently, efforts (e.g., telephone calls, letters, gifts, visits) are made to contact the person who is the object of the delusion, often a famous person or a superior at work. Although female patients are usually seen clinically, many men with this erotomanic-type delusional disorder become involved with the legal system when they stalk or try to inappropriately contact the individual who is the focus of their delusion.

More positively, my experience shows that an individual scientist depending on the due process of the country s legal system and the independence of the news media (or at least some of its members) can oppose the politically powerful. And my victory in the libel suit may inhibit other politicians from attempting to discredit those scientists who disagree with them, or, perhaps more likely, discourage individuals, such as Dr. Lancaster, from engaging in such activities to further political goals. 

Benefits derived from new varieties bred by farmers require a legal system of common ownership that allows equitable access and benefits sharing. In many countries there are examples of networks of organic farmers and breeders that provide such a system (Henatsch 2002 Rios Labrada et al. 2002 Ramos Garcia et al. 2004). 

Moreover, such a judgemental system might itself fail in the eyes of some other judgemental system, a possibility that is well understood by the legal system, with its hierarchy of courts. So, there is a (recursive) notion of failure , which clearly is a relative rather than an absolute notion. So then is the concept of dependability, at any rate when one is dealing with hugely complex systems.
