Comp ounds

The melting points of these solid derivatives are used to identify carbonyl comp>ounds. [Pg.328]

The exact nature of the monomer rehearsal of the hbrary strongly depends on the size of the library. For example, if the planned library is small, the preparation of a few target comp)ounds may suffice, while the number of comp)ounds prepared during rehearsal may be larger when the discrete hbrary is made by thousands of components. In both cases these comp)ounds are prepared with the same procedure that will be used for the hbrary S5mthesis, and thus the same steps wih be present in both the monomer rehearsal and the final hbrary synthesis. This step is cmcial to rule out monomers that perform poorly and to determine the optimized reaction conditions. [Pg.214]

When phenyl glycine ortho-caxhoxyMc acid is fused with potassium hydroxide it first loses water yielding an acid, indoi llic acid, and this loses carbon dioxide yielding indoxyl. In indoxyl the hydroxyl group is in the 3-position while in the isomeric oxindole it is in the 2-position. All of these comp>ounds are thus condensed hetero-cyclic compounds of a benzene ring and a pyrrole ring. Indole is the mother substance and the others are hydroxy or ketone derivatives. [Pg.870]

The [VO5] square pyramidal units are ccmsiderably distorted around the vanadium center and the V-O bond distances are ranging from 1.65 to 2.30A. Such a behavior was reported for the two-dimensional layered vanadate comp>ounds [35, 36]. This shows that there is instability in the nonequivalent V-O bonds in the polyhedron. In essence, this is due to the displacement of the vanadium atom from the centre of the polyhedron, whose asymmetry strongly depends on the manner of connection with the surrounding polyhedron. This deformation will be expressed more clearly in the formation of the vitreous matrix. [Pg.74]

MSssbauer spectra of the comp>ounds 1-3 were recorded at —80 °C together with the spectra of the reference substances l-ferrocenyl-2-[(2,2-dicyanoethenyl)phenyl]tetramethyldisilane (4), 1-ferrocenyltridecamethylhexasilane (5) and ferrocenylundecamethylcyclohexasilane (6) in order to probe the nature of the iron sites. Mossbauer effect spectral parameters are presented in Table 1. Figure 4 shows the experimentally obtained spectrum of 1. [Pg.465]
