All regulatory agencies adopt what amounts to a life cycle approach to developmental and operational control of computerized equipment, with emphasis on documentation of software development and quahty management especially in GLP environments. The life cycle for analytical instruments from the user s perspective includes the purchasing phase (including system/vendor qualification), the IQ, OQ and PQ phases of AIQ (Section 9.5.1a), the maintenance phase and, fmaEy, the retirement phase, which probably occurs more frequently with respect to computers and software than the analytical instruments...

Phase 11 of Title IV hmits the majority of plants >20 MW and all plants >75 MW to maximum emissions of 1.2 pounds of SO2 per 10 Btu after the year 2000. In general, new plants would have to acquire banked emission allowances in order to be built. Emission allowances will be traded through a combination of seU/purchase with other utilities, EPA auctions and direct sales. 

Some clauses of ISO/TS 16949 address particular phases in the quality loop and others are independent of any phase. Commercial grades of PVP, K-15, K-30, K-90, and K-120 and the quaternized copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and dimthylaminoethylmethacrylate (poly-VP/ DMAEMA) made by International Specialty Products (ISP) were used in this study. PEO standard calibration kits were purchased from Polymer Laboratories Ltd. (PL), American Polymer Standards Corporation (APSC), Polymer Standards Service (PSS), and Tosoh Corporation (TSK). After field processing of wellhead products is complete, the oil and gas production phase of the industry passes into the refining stage, where the crude oil and field gas are further processed to make the products that ultimate users will purchase. The prices that refiners will pay determine the maximum allowable costs for oil and gas exploration and production. An oil or gas producer must be able to provide the product at a competitive price. For a vertically integrated oil company, no actual sale may take place, but the economics are much the same.

Reagents. Perylene was obtained from Sigma Chemical Company (St. Louis, Missouri). All other PAHs were supplied by Aldrich Chemical Company (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) and were reported to contain less that 3% impurities. All PAHs were used without further purification. Isopropyl ether (99%) for extraction work was also purchased from Aldrich. Hydroquinone, a fluorescent stabilizer present in the ether, was removed prior to solution preparation by rotary evaporation. Fluorometric-grade 1-butanol was supplied by Fisher Scientific Company (Fair Lawn, New Jersey). All solutions for extractions of PAHs were prepared by evaporating portions of a stock cyclohexane solution and diluting to the appropriate volume with isopropyl ether. Fluorescence measurements were performed on 1 10 dilutions of the stock and final organic phase solutions. The effect of dissolved CDx on the fluorescence intensity of the organic phase PAH was minimized by dilution with isopropyl ether. 

Bromohexanoic acid was purchased from Aldrich Chemical Company, Inc., and esterified with sulfuric acid and methanol. Methyl 6-bromohexanoate was obtained as a colorless liquid, b.p. 92-94° (5 mm.), Md 1.4510, judged to be greater than 99% pure according to gas chromatographic analysis on dimethylsilicone (OV-101) as liquid phase. 

At this point, the availability of a purchased product that fulfills the software/computer system design description should be researched. If a commercial product is not available, and the capabilities for software/computer system design are available in-house, the design phase can be initiated.
