Project management sources

Managing risk—project managers planning research tasks need to identify the most important outstanding sources of uncertainty and work out which most need resolution at any given point in the R D process. 

Of the projects in the database, four completed projects using pump-and-treat provided performance data for initial and final MTBE concentrations. Median concentrations were 27,000 pg/L for before treatment and <1 pg/L for after treatment. The median project duration for these projects was 14 months. There are today more than 100 biocatalytic processes in routine production and a project management team is handling custom biotransformations.

SNL personnel who direct day-to-day work activities are responsible for knowing the hazards associated with the work and the controls needed to perform the work safely. They are also expected to integrate ES H requirements fi om sitewide institutional sources, facility-specific sources, and project-specific sources and ensure that all required controls are properly in place before work begins. SNL personnel also have the responsibility for reporting to management any work situations or practices they observe that do not comply with safety responsibilities.

The initiatives and processes in lean project management are deriving benefits from two sources. Firstly, the traditional approach of critical path scheduling, Basu (2004, p. 129) is to optimize time for completion and secondly derived from the lean tools applied in supply chain management (such as value stream and process mapping) to reduce procurement lead-time and non-value adding activities. 

If you are the project manager, you should take the lead in preparing the PP. Prepare the first draft of the PP by drawing on sources, such as knowledge of the following, which are typically available as a result of the ramp up to a project project type, project location, team members, the agreement/contract, and, of course the client, owner, customer, and stakeholders.
