Production systems types

Various types of subsea production systems are being used and their versatility and practicality is being demonstrated in both major and marginal fields throughout the world. [Pg.268]

As subsea production systems are remote from the host production facility there must be some type of system in place which allows personnel on the host facility to control and monitor the operation of the unmanned subsea system. [Pg.270]

Control charts were originally developed in the 1920s as a quality assurance tool for the control of manufactured products. Two types of control charts are commonly used in quality assurance a property control chart in which results for single measurements, or the means for several replicate measurements, are plotted sequentially and a precision control chart in which ranges or standard deviations are plotted sequentially. In either case, the control chart consists of a line representing the mean value for the measured property or the precision, and two or more boundary lines whose positions are determined by the precision of the measurement process. The position of the data points about the boundary lines determines whether the system is in statistical control. [Pg.714]

Rubber-Modified Copolymers. Acrylonitrile—butadiene—styrene polymers have become important commercial products since the mid-1950s. The development and properties of ABS polymers have been discussed in detail (76) (see Acrylonitrile polymers). ABS polymers, like HIPS, are two-phase systems in which the elastomer component is dispersed in the rigid SAN copolymer matrix. The electron photomicrographs in Figure 6 show the difference in morphology of mass vs emulsion ABS polymers. The differences in stmcture of the dispersed phases are primarily a result of differences in production processes, types of mbber used, and variation in mbber concentrations. [Pg.508]

Life-cycle co.sting (LCC). This type of analysis requires that all the traditional costs of project or product system, from raw-material acquisition to end-result product di osal, be considered. [Pg.2164]

Then n in equation (6.62) is the type number of the system and J([ denotes the product of the factors. The system type can be observed from the starting point uj 0) of the Nyquist diagram, and the system order from the finishing point bj oo), see Figure 6.22. [Pg.168]

The first step in establishing a database that defines the operating condition of each machine-train or production system is to generate an equipment information sheet (EIS) for each machine-train. The information sheet must contain all of the machine-specific data such as type of operation and information on all of the components that make up the machine-train. [Pg.713]

Hard-film protectives can be applied to most types of single articles and are especially suitable in mass-production systems. They should not be applied to assemblies because the hard film is liable to cement mating surfaces together and considerable difficulty may arise in the removal of the protective film. This type of protective should be removed before the article is put into use. [Pg.761]

Eukaryotic algae (Chlorophyceae) of the genera Chforella and Scenedesmus have been used for SCP production. Several types of cultivation systems have been considered, depending on the substrate used and whether the SCP is intended for use as food or feed. [Pg.70]

Before beginning to farm organically, it is important to do as much as possible to ascertain the best market for your likely organic products and to marry this with the type of farming that you want to do and the production systems which suit the farm you want to either buy or convert. The best market can be defined as the one that will provide the highest and most regular income. [Pg.127]

Potential problems with an ATES loop are illustrated in Figure 39 and encounter a number of events that are related to the chemical behaviour of the system. However, the figure also illustrates problems connected to a general system design, such as aeration and sand production. These types of problems may also have secondary damaging impacts on surroundings buildings and the environment. [Pg.167]

The third group has opted for a mixed system combining fixed sums and percentages of the price. Thus, in Italy patients have to pay a particular sum in lire for type A and type B products, while type C products have a 100 per cent co-payment. Finland employs a linear formula consisting of a fixed minimum amount to which 50 per cent of the price is added. [Pg.137]

Conventional livestock production systems can be very diverse and this diversity is influenced by economic, geographic, environmental and cultural factors. Conventional inputs for direct use in ruminant production include many types of plant feeds (i.e. forages, cereals, soybeans, etc.), industrial by-products (i.e. molasses, distiller s dried grain, meat bone meal, etc.), feed... [Pg.178]

Spray/cascade units are available in which the hot salt is sprayed over the surface of the product. This type of system can lose a lot of heat during the spraying operation. [Pg.174]
