Those that cure well between these temperatures are often referred to as intermediate set. Cold set types naturally set much faster at intermediate temperatures. Cold pressing of plywood is usually done in a hydraulic press. A stack of round-shaped samples, wifh each layer of material separated with a brass shim, was placed inside two plates. Expression is the separation of liquid from a two-phase solid-liquid system by compression of the system under conditions that permit the liquid to escape, while the solid is retained between the compressing surfaces. After dehydration in a diffuser, the nitrocellulose contains about 50% of alcohol.
