Equity is available from two sources. First, the company can sell new stock which, if in the form of ordinary shares, carries no interest payment. Although this course appears cheap, its use for projects which do not increase earnings, at least to a compensatory level, is usually inadvisable. This leaves retained earnings as the most likely source of equity for the present project. [Pg.846]

While writing the first chapters, the author discovered that there existed no book giving a full yet elementary treatment of solutions from the point of view of statistical mechanics. Feeling the need of such a book to refer to, he set aside the present project and proceeded to write one. It was published in 1949 by McGraw-Hill under the title, Introduction to Statistical Mechanics. Some familiarity with Chapter 7 of that book will be found helpful by the reader of this one. [Pg.280]

We sketched the above Preface with Andrzej together in early 2008, at the start of the present project. We have decided to leave it essentially unchanged. This book is above all his book. We miss him a lot... [Pg.391]

The presented project was not able to deliver reliable data for the validation of the preliminary simulation results or the experimental results in the laboratory. In 2002 another research project has been started to investigate the cold storage... [Pg.443]

Product studies of most major chemicals giving the present projected economic characteristics. It gives the manufacturers production processes, prices, many data sheets, and cunent indicators. It is constantly being revised. [Pg.21]

To see how the information is used, we will create a new project. We will save the present project, close it, and then create a new project. Select File and then Save to save any changes we made to the schematic ... [Pg.46]

This screen lists all libraries used with this schematic. Three libraries are listed, Section 73.11b, non.llb, and Class.llb. Libraries that have an asterisk ( ) are global libraries that are available to all projects. Libraries that do not have an asterisk are available only to the present project. Thus, library Section 73.11b is available only to the present project and nomJIb and class.llb are available to all schematics. [Pg.443]

The library is not yet configured. If you want the library to be available to all schematics, click the Add as Global button. With this selection, the library will be added and displayed with an indicating that it is a global library available to all projects. If you want the library to be available only to the current project, select the Add to Design button. The library will be added to the list without an asterisk, indicating that it is only available to the present project. Select either of the Add buttons ... [Pg.445]

Measuring the C02 evolution, CER, is an excellent way to monitor the ethanol production since the dominant source of C02 production in anaerobic fermentations is directly linked to ethanol formation (13). One of the main goals of the present project was to maximize ethanol production. The feed rate, F(t), which maximizes the overall ethanol production, 1(F) (Eq. 1), for a given time, t, should therefore be found (16) ... [Pg.605]

If one considers the present projections of most American government sources, the above expectations will seem overly optimistic. For example, the early release of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the United States energy outlook shown in Figure 1.61 provides estimates that suggest a... [Pg.132]

PANELIST BLOOM I would say that COGAS talks very little about fuels for the utility market on the liquid side. The quality of the liquid product that we presently project is quoted as a No. 4 fuel oil and it is practically a No. 2. It really ought to be suitable for residential and commercial use. The naphtha we are talking about is a reformer feedstock and maybe a chemical feedstodk. [Pg.119]

Sequencing of project sections or tasks can be performed in different ways. The example in Figure 2 is displayed as a Gantt (proprietary name) chart which shows the duration of tasks as horizontal bars. Because of their clarity Gantt charts are a preferred means to present project plans. [Pg.22]

We wish to thank Ms. Elena Kiba and Mr. Slava Levitsky, who inestimably helped with the manuscript, and Ms. Gretchen Becker (Vermont, USA) for linguistic editing. We are much indebted to Prof. Alexander Nazarenko (SUNY, Buffalo) for many years of fruitful collaboration. We rather regret that he could not take part in the present project. We also thank Dr. Igor Fritsky and Dr. Oleg Varsatskii for their competent discussion about this book and fruitful ideas. [Pg.430]

The present project was carried out in cooperation with Tiba-Muller Lid (Balstlial, Switzerland) which is gratefully acknowledged. The investigation was funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy and the Swiss Federal Office for Editcaiion and Sciences and it was part of the EU-Project JOR3CT96, Low-NO, Wood Chip Combustion which was coordinated by Joanneum Research (Austria). [Pg.954]

A major accomplishment of the present project is the cooperation with a pump manufacturer who has constructed a pump for the pilot plant installation, for bringing the feedstock to the HTU process pressure of 100-200 bar in one step. On the basis of this, and their experience with commercial-size pumps, the manufacturer has made a design and cost quotation for a commercial-scale pump. [Pg.1318]

We wish to thank the General Manager of the Antwerp Water Works, ir. J. DIRICKX, for his permission to present this paper. The present project is supported by a grant provided by tbe I.W.O.N.L. — I.R.S.IA. Department of Industry (Institute for Scientific Research in Industry and Agriculture). [Pg.596]

The authors would like to express their appreciation to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry for exceeding financial support to develop this process, and to Messrs. Y. Okino, M. Hosono, Y. Nagayoshi and U. Ishii and others engaged in the development of the process, for their sincere efforts to ensure the success of the present project. [Pg.518]

Figure 9. Pictorial view of the NEMO tower. Before the deployment the tower is assembled in a transportable structure together with its anchor and the releasing system. After the deployment a large buoy pulls up the whole tower. The stories are kept in tension by means of buoys and synthetic fiber ropes. In the present project each tower holds 64 PMT displaced in 16 stories. Figure 9. Pictorial view of the NEMO tower. API and Bureau of Mines Projects. Some of the most important current work on the sulfur compounds present in petroleum is being carried out under the auspices of the American Petroleum Institute under Project 48 which was organized in 1948 to conduct fundamental studies on the synthesis, properties, and identification of sulfur compounds in petroleum. At present. Project 48 consists essentially of four phases (1) production and purification of sulfur compounds and the determination of their common physical properties (2) measurement of thermodynamic properties of pure sulfur compounds (3) identification and measurement of sulfur compounds in crude oil and (4) development of methods of synthesis and identification of sulfur compounds. Work on the first three phases, combined as Project 48A, is being conducted at the U. S. Bureau of Mines under the supervision of H. M. Smith as project director. Work on the fourth... [Pg.416]

IPCC has tried to estimate the future change in the atmospheric concentrations of the well-mixed greenhouse gases. Present projections used by modelers are essentially based on an extrapolation of the increase during the last decades (for CO2 it is about... [Pg.20]

Atmospheric CO2 The atmosphere s water content is controlled by the water cycle (evaporation and precipitation), and the average has remained constant over the years. However, as fossil fuels have been used more extensively, the carbon dioxide concentration has increased—up about 20% from 1880 to the present. Projections indicate that the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere may be double in the twenty-first century what it was in 1880. This trend could increase the earth s average temperature by as much as 10 °C, causing dramatic changes in climate and greatly affecting the growth of food crops. [Pg.344]

The following sections describe the various waste materials, the analyses and characterization of the different multi-tracer molecular markers (MMs), as well as the statistical data analysis technique performed for the present project. [Pg.367]
