Actin Polymerization Regulation by Divalent Metal Ion and Nucleotide Bindings ATP Hydrolysis and Actin Binding Proteins... [Pg.43]

In food contact articles ethylene oxide, butane diolglyceride ether, butane diolfor-mal, 1,3-dioxane, 1,3-dioxolane (total < 6 %) can be used as comonomers. Amines, tri-phenylphosphine, borotrifluoride and others can be used as catalysts (total < 0.1 %) and various polymerization regulators and polymerization inhibitors can be used. [Pg.35]

Polymerization of polyvinylethers is initiated using cationic initiators like borotri-fluoride and the finished product may not contain more than 0.4 % borane and 0.3 % fluoride as decomposition products. Tertiarybutylphenol disulfide (< 0.15%) can be used as a stabilizer as well as a polymerization regulator. [Pg.36]

Additional free radical polymerization regulating agents were provided by Anderson [1], (I)-(ni). [Pg.515]

TABLE 1. Effectiveness of nitric oxide polymerization regulators on the polymerization of vinyl acetate and acetonitrile at 70°C using 10 ml of monomer, 0.35 g of benzoyl peroxide, and 0.1 g of selected nitroxide regulators. [Pg.593]

Free radical polymerization inhibitors have been prepared by reacting tetramethylpi-peridive oxyl derivatives with selected glycidyl intermediates. When used as a styrene polymerization regulator in 1.0mol% and 0.1mol% at 120°C, molecular weights of 2400 and 43,400 daltons, respectively, were obtained. [Pg.600]

Wunderlich [2] and Nesvadba [3] prepared long alkyl chain 2,2,6,6 tetraalk-ylpiperidine-A -oxy radicals and A-alkoxy derivatives, (11), and (III), respectively, that were effective as polymerization regulators. [Pg.602]

Nesvadba [4] prepared 4-imino-piperidine-A-oxyl derivatives, (IV) and (V), for use as polymerization regulators. [Pg.602]

Use Additives for cosmetic creams, polymerization regulators for elastomers and plastics, detergents and viscosity-index improvers for lubricating oils, finishing and softening agents for textiles, preparation of quaternary ammonium compounds, surfactants, water evaporation control, and antifoam. [Pg.488]

Use Polymerization regulator for rubber and polyester resins, synthesis of dyes and pharmaceuticals, fungicide, algicide. [Pg.874]

With dimethylbenzyl alcohol as a polymerization regulator which prevents cross-linking and using animal glue as a suspending agent, a suspension polymer has been prepared. This material gave clear solutions in acetone and could be molded as 85°C and 5000 psi within 10 min. Procedure 8-5 illustrates the polymerization process of this patented process [107]. [Pg.321]

LB lithography for spatially controlled attachment of initiator to form regular stripes of PS and poly(n-butyl-acrylate) (PBA) brushes was reported by Studer and coworkers [16]. Mixed monolayers of L-adipalmytoyl-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and TEMPO-derived alkoxyamines 4 or 5 (Scheme 5) were transferred by the LB technique onto oxidized silicon wafer in regular stripes with submicrometer lateral dimensions. Physisorbed DPPC was removed by washing, and NMP of styrene from the surface of silicon wafer covalently bonded to 4 was performed at 125°C for 24 h in the presence of 6 as sacrificial polymerization regulator. NMP of n-butyl acrylate was conducted with a surface modified with 5 in the presence of 7 at 105°C for 24 h. Polymer stripe width was controlled by the concentration of alkoxyamine in the mixed phase and adjusted from about 0.2 to 1.3 pm. The height of the stripes increased to 8 0.2 nm for PS and 4.7 0.2 nm for PBA (Scheme 6). [Pg.9]
