Performance quality control

Obviously, the scope of additive analysis for R D purposes (product innovation and understanding of additive performance), quality control, troubleshooting and competitor product analysis differ (Scheme 10.2). Product knowledge (see Sections 10.1 and 10.2) is particularly desirable for the latter two activities. [Pg.729]

Examination applies to quality control functions performed by the manufacturer (for components only), fabricator, or erector. Reference in this Code to an "examiner" is to a person who performs quality control examinations. In addition, nondestructive examinations (NDE) such as VT, RT, UT, PT, and MT methods used, as defined in para. GR-4.3.4, shall meet the requirements of this Chapter. [Pg.63]

Performing quality control on an analytical chemistry operation by having duplicate analyses performed on some materials. [Pg.875]

Written procedures to describe how critical equipment maintenance will be performed, quality-controlled, and safety-ensured, such as use of decontamination, hot work, line-breaking, and lockout/tagout procedures. [Pg.44]

After defining a protocol including all variables, instrumentation-specific reader file formats, and layouts, assay data can be processed automatically into the assembled end product containing the data of one screening experiment (Figure 14.10). All data is written to the HTS database where it can be accessed via client software to analyze and visualize results, perform quality control steps, invalidate erroneous data, and finally release the data of a screening run. [Pg.247]

However, this assertion is based on the assumption that the compounds intended to be made were actually made in sufficient quantities and to adequate levels of purity. The yields in many Combinatorial Chemistry synthesis vary significantly and the purity may also be problematic. The additional steps required to purify and measure the quantity generated are not usually necessary to establish whether the major product shows any significant biological activity. It is therefore not surprising that many companies perform quality control checks on a subset oftheir samples. This prohibits accurate decisions on the overlap of libraries. [Pg.178]

If the manufacturer wants to have an Association Pharmaceutique Beige (APB) label on its product, it can apply a special file to the scientific committee of APB (the national Pharmacists Professional Organisation). After a procedure of some 30 to 60 days, he can sign a contract with this organisation (if positive outcome of the procedure). This contract, shown by the APB label on the pack, gives APB the right to take samples in the market and perform quality controls on the concerned products. These products are not allowed to claim medical indications. [Pg.53]

A recent survey (27) touched on several other applications AIWARE has built a system which troubleshoots grinding operations in a factory Global Holonetics LIGHTWARE performs quality control on an assembly line Widrow has developed a neural network which eliminates echoes in telephone lines, and is used in modems and other signaling devices Carleton University s Neuroplanner is a set of networks which enables a robot to navigate its workspace. [Pg.70]

Many biochemical analyzers rely on single-point calibration at values that are normal for humans but differ from those of laboratory animals such reliance requires the analyzer to be linear over a range that includes normal and extremely abnormal values as far as practicable. To ensure correct calibration and consistent analyzer performance, quality control materials should be used for every batch of analyses performed. Many laboratories use trilevel materials similar in properties to the calibration materials and with quoted assay values that are relative to low, normal, and high human blood samples. It is good practice to cross-reference new batches of quality control materials with previous batches because there may be slight differences that are sometimes unacceptable and due to shipment and delivery problems. [Pg.280]

RESERVE (RETAINED) SAMPLE A representative sample of sufficient quality and quantity needed of the final excipient batch to perform quality control analyses twice. [Pg.189]

The provisions of the preceding articles notwithstanding, the Institute, in the case of a justified cause, will have the authority to perform quality control of the products directly when so provided by the present regulation or when ordered by its Director. [Pg.342]

This book intends to demonstrate the efforts of many trace analytical chemists faced with this situation in their practical daily work. Thus, the main aim is no longer the description of a variety of analytical techniques that are able to achieve the lowest possible detection limits via quite sophisticated and complicated procedures. Instead, efforts to improve reliability by well designed standard operational procedures and properly performed quality control are the core of the book. [Pg.1]

Note Steps 2 to 6 should be performed once daily before running samples on the instrument. This procedure helps to keep the column and flow path clean and free from impurities. In addition, for optimal instrument and column performance, quality control procedures should be performed at regular intervals (see Note 8). [Pg.80]

Any spills are contained in a spill tray and cleaned up with a spill kit -Workers performing quality control analysis use basic safe chemical handling procedures as spelled out in the Sandia ES H Manual. [Pg.394]

Firms have a receiving function to ensure that the material and equipment they actually receive are what the company ordered and paid for. Depending on the firm s relationship with its supplier, receipt of the material may be confirmed by the supplier itself, or it may be received by a separate function which performs only this task. The receiving function checks the quantity of material received and may perform quality control checks on it or send it to a quality control lab to do this. The receiving function records discrepancies and logs the receipt of the material into the system and then places it in its appropriate storage location until it is needed. [Pg.215]

In order to perform quality control the quality requirements or parameters should be known. cGMP regulation demands that the characteristics of containers important for product quality are defined in specifications [5]. The Ph. Fur. describes general requirements for some packaging types and materials (glass, rubber and various plastics). Specifications for containers are more specific for individual... [Pg.533]

The melt strand is exposed to the atmosphere and is not at a constant temperature, complicating efforts to determine extensional viscosity directly. However, the data from these tests are very useful for qualitative testing of materials to rank their suitability for a process, troubleshoot, or perform quality control. Much work has been done recently to expand the usefulness of this measurement, including techniques that can generate temperature-and process-independent master curves [18]. [Pg.86]

Lab Technician. Start 22 to 34 per hour 62,920 to 74,360 per year with 25% overtime. (Note Overtime is typically lower than 25% for this occupation.) Certificate, AAS degree, or three years experience. Degree must include two to three classes in chemistry, math, and physics. Perform quality control tests. [Pg.28]

Performing quality control procedures for chemicals helps assure production of high-quality water from a water treatment plant. Controlling chemical handling and feed is first among the many steps of plant operational control. The following sections discuss the quality control procedures for each step. [Pg.3]

In early 1950, Johnston unwittingly entered into what would become his lifetime career path when he joined Smith Nephew as a laboratory technician. In his new job, John did it all—he tested incoming raw materials, performed quality control tests on industrial and medical tapes, and even produced some of Smith Nephew s small-volume products (e.g., diachylon bandages). [Pg.33]

Verification, Benchmarking, and Applications." Its aim is to provide independent assessment of MELCOR as a severe accident/source term analysis tool. The scope of this program is to perform quality control verification... [Pg.383]

For the analysis of foods, the choice of the sampling strategy depends on the nature of the food sample and on the purpose of the analytical measurement. In general, foods are acquired in supermarkets, or in production lines when performing quality control steps. In any case, main cautions are taken with the recipients used to transport the samples to the laboratory to avoid contamination. The utilization of clean scissors, knifes or any other cutting device when dealing with complex samples such as mussels or fishes is also mandatory. In many occasions, freeze-drying of the samples is also advisable to ensure a better conservation. [Pg.534]
