Pallet-conveyor system

The product would be transported to the new distribution center using a pallet-conveyor system to load trailers with conveyor beds inside. [Pg.346]

FuUy automated conveyor systems are available for turntable and overhead rotary arm models. Product loads can be fed into the infeed conveyor system by the automated palletizer system or manually by fork truck. The loads are staged... [Pg.2666]

Filling Conveyor. Filling line transfer system is an automatic, nonsynchronus, variable-speed drive unit complete with filling pallets and nests for the five different munitions filled and closed on the line. This unique system moves work pallets from station to station and provides accurate shot pin alignment for the work piece as various operations are performed, and features automatic acceleration and deceleration of the filling pallets. Operation is unusually smooth, quiet and safe. [Pg.176]

Case conveyors should be long enough to accumulate the cases rather than having an extra operator to stack them off the system when the palletizer shuts down. The cost of the accumulation conveyor must be compared with the extra labor cost incurred by hand stacking the cases. Return on investment criteria should be used to make this decision. Case conveyors should be at least 10% faster than the... [Pg.2662]

Palletizers are available in high-level, low-level, or robotic versions. In high-level palletizers, the case or product enters the palletizer via an overhead conveyor. In a low-level system, the case or product enters the palletizer at floor level or approximately 75-90 cm off the floor. Robotic palletizers generally operate at floor level and involve mechanical placement of the cases and/or rolls. [Pg.2665]

Using the non-palletised methods and depalletising to optimise transit vehicle space, warehouse space, etc. substantially increases manual handling. This can be reduced by the use of mechanical transfer systems (lifts, hoists, chutes, roller conveyors, etc.). Placing loads directly onto the floor in warehouses, vehicles, etc. is not recommended for pharmaceutical products. It is therefore advisable to try to raise the packaging off the floor by the use of boards, duck boards, hardboard, slip pallets, slip sheets, etc., but these may cause other problems. [Pg.403]

The production line consists of two machines (Ml and M2), two robots (R1 and R2), and two conveyors. Each machine is serviced by a dedicated robot that performs the load/unload task. One conveyor is used to transport workpieces, a maximinn two at one time. The other conveyor is used to transport empty pallets. Three pallets are available in the system. Each workpiece is machined on Ml and then on M2. The machining time is 10 time miits on Ml and 16 time units on M2. The load and unload tasks takes 1 time unit. [Pg.505]

CNC systems control the moving units of a machine tool. The moving units are classified under feed and spindle drives, and auxiliary components such as tool and pallet changers, coolant pumps, and chip conveyors. Feed and spindle drives require smooth position, speed, and... [Pg.249]

Pallet systems offer the option of precise transport and positioning of the pallet. The object that is transported can be placed in a suitable fixture that provides sufficient accuracy for the operations chained together by the pallet transport conveyor. This principle is applicable both for machining and assembly operations. [Pg.619]

A resource holon contains a physical part, namely, a production resource of the manufacturing system, and an information processing part that controls the resource. It offers production capacity and functionality to the surrounding holons. It holds the methods to allocate the production resources and the knowledge and the procedures to organize, use, and control these production resources to drive production. A resource holon is an abstraction of the production means such as a factory, a machine shop, machines, furnaces, conveyors, pipelines, pallets, components, raw materials, tools, tool holders, material storage, personnel, energy, and floor space. [Pg.657]

Elastomers. Elastomers are normally supplied in bale form. This necessitates handling with pallets, forklifts and muscle as far as the feed conveyor. From here on, there should be no need for manual effort. There are systems available that can handle four different grades or types of elastomer in bale form, weighing them simultaneously to 1 percent accuracy, and collecting them on a conveyor in batches up to 300 kg (660 lbs). The operation is controlled by a minicomputer. [Pg.141]

The automated conveyor sortation and shipping system design were based on supply chain requirements for surge and seasonal volumes for both package carrier and LTL shipments, validation of complete shipments (scan verihcation of each carton and validation of check weights), confirmation of pallet contents for multiple pallet orders, and sufficient throughput capacity. [Pg.487]

PTH components are generally repaired by solder fountain, which is akin to a wave-soldering system with a vertically pumped jet of solder. It is significantly smaller than a wave-soldering machine and generally lacks a conveyor, a fluxer, and preheaters. Since the equipment is much smaller, often benchtop-mounted, it permits an operator to manually remove parts and replace them. The classic solder fountain is a manually controlled system. Nozzles are chosen to shape the molten solder jet to match closely the size of the area to be soldered. Nonetheless, a shield or pallet is often used to localize the soldering and to prevent contact of the molten solder with previously soldered components on the board. [Pg.1139]

I observed an associate pushing each carton, and there were a lot of cartons, forward onto a powered roller conveyor that reversed the direction of the cartons and eventually delivered them to an overhead conveyance system that conveyed them to the associates who picked them up and placed them on the correct pallet for shipment. I started asking questions of the associate who was pushing each carton forward to the powered conveyor. Why do the cartons have to be pushed forward Why do you have to push them Would a mechanical pusher triggered by a sensor that detected the carton make your job easier It was no surprise when the associate quickly responded with a y s. To encourage him to think deeper, I asked him, How could you add value if you didn t have to push the cartons His wheels were spinning as the site manager and I walked away. [Pg.61]
