The paint is then cured in an oven. The curing time will depend upon the thickness of coat, shape of the workpiece and type of oven and its effectiveness. Generally, a coat of up to 60-70 microns at a stoving temperature of 180-200 C (depending upon the type of powder) should take around 10-12 minutes to cure. Contact the manufacturers for exact details. [Pg.410]

Silicate binders are used in conjunction with zinc powder to give paints of excellent corrosion resistance. The organo-silicates, e.g. ethyl orthosilicate, are most commonly used. The full potential of this type of binder has probably not yet been exploited. [Pg.585]

The effect of environmental concerns on future developments in the paint industry is discussed. Particular attention is paid to volatile organic compound regulations, developments in powder coatings, and radiation-curable coatings. Tabulated information is presented on applications, backbone type and typical mechanical properties of Incorez W830 series PU dispersions and Incorez W2000 series uiethane/aciylic hybrids. 10 refs. P.Gr.7 is used in all types of paints, including high grade original automotive finishes. Paints containing P.Gr.7 are completely suitable for exterior application. Incorporated in powder coatings, the pigment performs better than (3-Copper Phthalocyanine Blue. Plate-out is not observed (Sec. 1.6.4.1). [Pg.450]

P.R.88 is also found in other systems throughout the paint industry, such as in various types of air drying systems and powder coatings. [Pg.499]

The cake decorating industry produces colorful and metallic powders or "dusts for accenting flowers or for painting on cakes. There are three types—petal, luster, and metallic dusts. The powders are all nontoxic, derived from minerals, and can be used as powders or made into a liquid "paint. ... [Pg.238]

We have investigated the recovered glassfiber-resin powder for its properties as a filler for epoxy resin compounds which are used as paints or adhesives, and compared it to conventional fillers, such as talc and calcium carbonate. The epoxy resin compound, composed of bisphenol A type epoxy resin (50.0wt%), aliphatic polyamine type hardener (18.0wt%) and filler (32.0%), was prepared. Strength and thermal expansion properties were measured for the molded epoxy resin compound cured 23°C for 7 days. Viscosity was measured for the epoxy resin compound before adding the hardener. Adhesive strength was measured by tearing two ferric boards bonded with the epoxy resin compound which was composed of bisphenol A type epoxy resin (49.2wt%), polyaminoamide type hardener (18.0wt %), and filler (32.8wt%), and was cured at 23°C for 7 days. [Pg.94]
