Packing storage

Adsorption of supercritical gases takes place predominantly in pores which are less than four or five molecular diameters in width. As the pore width increases, the forces responsible for the adsorption process decrease rapidly such that the equilibrium adsorption diminishes to that of a plane surface. Thus, any pores with widths greater than 2 nm (meso- and macropores) are not useful for enhancement of methane storage, but may be necessary for transport into and out of the adsorbent micropores. To maximize adsorption storage of methane, it is necessary to maximize the fractional volume of the micropores (<2 nm pore wall separation) per unit volume of adsorbent. Macropore volume and void volume in a storage system (adsorbent packed storage vessel) should be minimized [18, 19]. [Pg.281]

Shacham and Kehat s direct method has several advantages over similar methods. The matrix A remains unchanged during the solution process and only row-wise scanning operations have to be carried out. The "systematic packing" storage scheme can be used and the amount of index manipulation is reduced to minimum. The problem of "fill-ins" does not exist since newly-generated elements are included either in the matrix Vf(x ) or in the vector JE(x ). ... [Pg.269]

Even under recommended packing/storage conditions, drugs retain their potency for a limited time period only. Please note the expiry date marked on the drug package When in doubt, consult the dispensing pharmacist. [Pg.265]

Although TNT is a widely used military explosive, it is no longer manufactured in the United States. Crystalline XACs are, however, very persistent in soils, so continue as a contaminant source long after production has ceased. Large chunks of explosives present a detonation hazard. New environmental releases are more likely associated with packing/storage facilities or unexploded ordnance. [Pg.110]

Drums used for packing storage should be cleaned free of foreign material that may chemically attack packing or stick to packing surfaces and later inhibit liquid film formation, or cause undesirable effects (e.g., foaming). Oversized containers are hazardous to workers lifting them, and should be avoided. [Pg.255]

Package unit including column, packing, storage tanks, pumps, controls, high pressure, stainless steel. PM cost = 750000 at 450 L column volume with n = 0.14 for volumes < 450 L and n = 0.38 for 450-4500 L column volume. For low pressure, plastic columns and peripherals = X 0.5. [Pg.402]

The CO2 content in experiment 2 was increased to 30 vol% CO2. The increased CO2 inlet concentration resulted in a higher saturation temperature (-91.5 °C versus -94.5 °C), and, therefore, the packing storage capacity slightly increased. However, due to the higher... [Pg.26]

The pack sizes of raw materials are often such that the contents will not be used in its entirety, but in parts. Along with the substance s properties, its packing, storage and use determine the shelf life of the raw material in the pharmacy. The shelf life of a raw material is displayed on the package by an expiration date. This applies to the shelf life at the... [Pg.471]
